Neohomes 2.0 Guide

Neohomes 2.0 is a revamped housing system for the denizens of Neopia. Existing alongside the original Neohomes system, Neohomes 2.0 adds a plethora of fun and useful features that allow you to customize your home to your heart’s delight. Most importantly, the Neohomes 2.0 system introduces Neocash items for home decoration, and allows you to actually place your pets and their petpets inside of their homes!

GETTING STARTED

To begin building the Neohome of your dreams, you’ll want to access the Neohomes section of the site, with a link conveniently located in the Customize section of your navigation bar. Once you are in the Neohomes section, you will see several options: Shops, NC Mall, FAQ, Board, Spotlight, and Classic.

The six areas of the Neohomes section on the right side of the menu are fairly self-explanatory. The Shops will sell you furnishings and other decorative items for Neopoints, while the NC Mall Shops will do the same for NC. The FAQ will set you straight on commonly-asked questions about Neohomes, while the Board gives you a place to ask new questions and discuss Neohomes with the larger community. At the end of our menu is the Spotlight, which showcases some of the finest homes around, and finally, Classic Neohomes, which gives you access to the old Neohomes 1.0. features.

To begin planning your own beautiful new Neohome 2.0, click the Create A New Neohome button located on the bottom left side of the menu, below the preview picture!

Before you begin to break ground on your new home, you must select the area of Neopia that you wish to build your new home in – use the preview menu (shown below) to select an area and see what it will look like in the viewer to the left. Choose carefully – once you select your building area, you cannot change where your house is located!

Once you’ve selected the area you wish to build in, press the Create This Neohome button, and watch as your new home becomes a reality!

FIRST STEPS

Now that you’ve constructed your new Neohome, it’s time to build it into a comfortable (and fashionable?!) place for you and your pet to enjoy. To help you on this path, you are provided with one of five Starter Packs of furniture to begin your collection. These packs come in one of five colors – red, blue, yellow, green, or purple – and are made up of various furniture, floors, and decorative items to fill your new Neohome with. The items in this starter pack, as well as any future items that you may obtain, are placed in your Storage Shed, similar to how wearable items for your pet are placed in your Closet. To purchase additional items to stock your Shed, head over to either the Shops or the NC Mall, both conveniently accessible from their respective buttons on the Neohomes Menu:

GETTING DOWN TO DECORATING

Once you’ve shopped until you’ve dropped and you’re ready to start turning the contents of your Shed into a lovely home, it’s time to start decorating! From the Neohomes menu, press the Customize My Neohome button to launch the Neohome editor. For first time users, there is a handy tutorial to show you the ins and outs of navigating the editor. In short, items from your Shed appear on the bottom menu, which contains three tabs: Items (Furniture, Decorations), Materials (Floors, Walls), and Pets.

To decorate with furniture, open the tab (marked with a chair) and drag items from the bottom bar up to the top screen. Once items are on the top part of the screen, they can be dragged around to re-position them.

Clicking an item opens up a menu that will allow the item to be rotated, raised, or lowered, depending on its position in the room. Certain items, like tables and lamps, will need to occupy the same ‘space’ but be raised / lowered apart from one another to create the illusion that the lamp is resting on top of the table, for example.

To decorate with materials, open the tab (marked with a hammer) and click the pattern you are looking to decorate your walls or floor with. Selecting the pattern changes your cursor into a paint-roller icon! With this roller, click and drag your cursor across the surfaces to be decorated, depending on if you are painting your walls or installing new flooring.

You will see yellow selection boxes spring up to highlight the areas of your home that you are about to decorate. Release your mouse button and watch as your pattern fills your home! Doors, windows, and other wall decorations are also located in the Materials tab, and are placed similarly to furniture.

You may have noticed that you can edit the outside of your house as well as the inside of the house – there are restrictions as to what can be placed outside, but simple furniture can be added to spruce up your landscaping! To switch between the inside and outside, use the large blue button on the middle-left side of the screen.

When you are ready for your Neopets (and their petpet!) to move into their new home, click the Pet tab (marked with a Kacheek) and drag your pets into place. They can be raised and lowered in the same way that other items can be, to position them to sit on beds, chairs, couches, and tables.

When you are done decorating, don’t forget to Save your changes by clicking the floppy-disk icon on the lower right hand side!

SPOTLIGHT TROPHY

Now that you’ve bled and sweat to build the perfect Neohome, why not reap the rewards of your hard work? Master decorators and creative construction workers can submit their Neohome projects to the Spotlight contest by filling out a simple application. First, use the Snapshot Mode button (marked with a blue camera) in the top right corner of the Neohome Customization window. Adjust your view using the arrows in the top left of the screen, then click the snapshot window to take a photo! This photo will become the default image of your Neohome for all associated menus, as well as your Contest Entry!

Once you’ve captured a picture of your Neohome that you think shows off all your hard work, type a quick description and caption into your application and send it off! Once per week, a winner is selected from all the entries and that Neohome is awarded with a place on that week’s Spotlight page! For your efforts, your account will also be awarded the coveted Golden Neohome trophy!

People in gold houses shouldn’t throw trophies…

Notes

  • Although the initial items in your Starter Pack are not able to be traded, you can purchase any of the items from the five sets at the Neohomes Superstore! Collect them all!
  • Once you have submitted an application for the Neohome Spotlight, clicking the application link in future weeks will re-submit your application for the next contest. If at first you don’t succeed, try again!

Neopets Tangor’s Workshop Guide

$

0

Tangor’s Workshop is located in Moltara, a massive underground city of magma-filled caves located deep beneath the surface of Neopia. Discovered during the events of the Atlas of the Ancients plot, Moltara offers an assortment of fire-y delights for explorers, including Tangor’s Workshop itself!

Welcome to my workshop! This is where I do all of my tinkering and such. If you happen upon anything that looks interesting, bring it to me and I’ll see what I can make of it.

Within his Workshop, Tangor can take the odds and ends of Moltara and turn them into a series of wonderful petpets for you to enjoy! When standing in the workshop, the available items that you have in your inventory are displayed in order to be clicked and turned in to Tangor for him to cobble together. Luckily, there are only four items that you need to be concerned with when it comes to Tangor: Shiny Obsidian, Miscellaneous Gears, Scrap Metal and Stone, and Red Moltite. Although visiting the workshop prompts you to trade any and every item in your inventory, (almost) all but these four can be ignored, as they do not lead to the creation of any petpets in Tangor’s Workshop. The exception to this is that Tangor will also build special combination petpets by combining the basic petpets that he makes from these four items. A list of valid item combinations is located at the end of this guide for your convenience.

Although these four items can be purchased from other users, they can also be found within the city limits of Moltara, either by visiting certain locations or completing mini-quests!

GATHERING THE ITEMS

SHINY OBSIDIAN

Shiny Obsidian is undoubtedly the easiest of the four items to obtain, as you can collect one per day merely by visiting the large Obsidian Quarry located in the lower left-hand corner of Moltara’s city map. It does not have a map label like the other locations, but can still be accessed by clicking the black rocks along the city’s edge.

MISCELLANEOUS GEARS

The Miscellaneous Gears appear at random on the Moltara City map. If you do not see any on your current view of the city, refresh the page often until they appear. There are eight known spawning locations for the gears:

  • Front door of Lampwyck’s Shop
  • By the large bank vault
  • Roof of Molten Morsels
  • Roof of Town Hall
  • Roof of Cog’s Togs
  • Front of Town Hall
  • Just under the string of red lights in the center of the map
  • Between Cog’s Tog’s and Town Hall

A rough guide to Miscellaneous Gears spawning locations.

SCRAP METAL AND STONE

Scrap Metal and Stone is awarded by a random event occurring in Moltara City. Simply refresh the map until the event appears, and the scrap will be added to your inventory.

RED MOLTITE

Red Moltite is the hardest of the four items to obtain, requiring you to complete not just one, but two mini-quests in order to find it. First and foremost, you must finish the Worm Lantern quest. To begin the quest, visit Lampwyck’s Lights Fantastic. The first time you visit, and any time after that in which you visit without having an empty lantern, an event will occur:

Upon arriving, you will receive this Empty Lantern.

Once you have an Empty Lantern, you will be able to go out into Moltara City and the Moltara Caves and collect the ten Worms that loiter around these two areas. You may have seen a worm or two as you have refreshed the map looking for gears and scrap – each of the ten worms has a specific respawn point that they will always appear in – but click fast! A worm is not guaranteed to be there just because you see its picture on the map. The locations of the worms are known to change approximately every five minutes, so if they change before you have a chance to capture it, it will return an error message when you attempt to capture it.

The locations of the ten worms and their colors are as follows:

Moltara City

  1. Red: Left of Town Hall
  2. Orange: Center, between orange lanterns
  3. Green: Roof of Cog’s Togs
  4. White: Entrance of Bank Vault
  5. Rainbow: Entrance to The Caves

Moltara Caves

  1. Purple: Ledge above Magma Pool
  2. Pink: Just below Magma Pool
  3. Yellow: Path above Petpetorium
  4. Blue: Next to Petpetorium stairs
  5. Black: Doorway to the right of Petpetorium sign

Rough maps of Moltara City and the Caves, with lanterns marking worm spawn locations.

With enough refreshing and enough patience, you will collect all ten worms. Once the ten worms and the empty lantern are all in your inventory, select the lantern in your inventory and select ‘Fill it with worms’ from the dropdown menu. The ten worms will be consumed and the empty lantern will become a Brightly Lit Lantern!

With this new item, you can successfully navigate the Dark Cave and explore its labyrinthine contents. Entering the cave with a lit lamp allows you to venture down a series of paths in search of Red Moltite. The correct path is dependent on the bolded sentence that greets you when you first enter the cave with a lit lantern. Each of the sentences has its own solution. For speed and ease of reference, a collection of the correct inputs follows – The bolded words are the beginning of the applicable starter sentence, and the four letters that follow are the correct combination of Left and Right turns that will get you to the Red Moltite:

At least… RLRL
Does it… RLLL
Hello? LLRR
I hope I… RLLR
I hope there’s… LRRR
I should… RRRL
I sure… RRLL
I wonder… LLLR
It’s very… LLRL
Jordie… LRLR
Let’s go… RRRR
Look at… LRRL
This lantern… RLRR
What a… LLLL
Where does… LRLL
Which way… RRLR

Collecting Red Moltite can be done once per day – after you have successfully collected a piece from the cave, your lantern’s worms will get tired and cease to glow. In order to reset your lantern for the next day, you must return it to Lampwyck’s shop when the worms get tired. Lampwyck will nurse your worms back to health for tomorrow… or will he? Upon returning, you find out that he has accidentally allowed them all to escape! He returns the empty lantern so that you may catch them all again in the wilds of Moltara, effectively resetting the quest to the beginning.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

Depending on what you are interested in building at Tangor’s workshop, you should collect the necessary supplies either by purchasing them from other users or by completing the sidequests above. Once you have obtained all the parts that you need, click them one at a time to add them to the recipe. When you are finished, click the first button to turn the items into Tangor so he can build the resulting petpet. If you make a mistake, there is a handy reset button, as well!

Neopets Smuggler’s Cove Guide

$
0
0

Neopets Smuggler’s Cove was unveiled on 18 October 2001 (Y3 in Neopets time) as a black market for pirates and smugglers to sell their booty– er, treasure, that is. The treasure sold here is so rare, only 100-120 of each item exists in all of Neopia. Yes, your suspicions are correct: it is super rare and difficult to purchase items here with your coin purse of dubloons, but if you’re able to snatch something… Well, let’s see if you get that far first!

Neopets Smugglers Cove

NEOPETS SMUGGLERS COVE

Smuggler’s Cove is located on the top-righthand corner of Krawk Island. It’s incredibly simple to get to — simply click Smuggler’s Cove on the map and violá!

Smugglers Cove Link

When you enter Smuggler’s Cove, you’ll get one of three responses:

  • The smugglers have no items to sell currently. This means that there is nothing you can do — there is nothing to buy, and there is no way of forcing items to appear. You have to leave and try another time.
  • Please wait a while before you return! If you think you can simply sit in the cove and refresh, you’re wrong! When you receive this (see picture below), you’re banned from the cove. While bans are completely random and last for a random amount of time, they’ve been rumored to appear after 2-3 refreshes of the cove and generally last between 30 and 60 minutes.

Neopets Smugglers Cove

  • There are items!!! Use your dubloons to buy them! You do not need to have the exact amount of dubloons necessary for an item, ex. if you want to buy something for 250 dubloons, it’s okay if you have three One Hundred Dubloon Coins. (see editorial response)

Neopets Smugglers CoveI don’t have a screenshot of items in the cove (because that’s how hard it is!),
so here’s a silly Usul and his pirate friends instead.

BUYING ITEMS AT THE SMUGGLERS COVE

Buying items in Smuggler’s Cove is very difficult, as the items are very rare and of limited quantity. Originally, TNT only released 100 of every item in the Cove, meaning after they had been purchased, they would never restock again. Very, very few items remain to be purchased, and TNT has not been in the mood to release more the last couple of years; if they ever do release items again, it will appear in the news (New Features), so keep an eye out!

“You may have to do a little searching to find the latest Battledome item.
We heard it was available in a secret cave somewhere far away…”
– TNT’s announcement of a new item at the cove

For now, many people stuck stalking the Cove hoping to catch one of the last remaining items.

What is and what is not left to be purchased in Smuggler’s Cove is not clear. For example, people seem relatively certain that there are no more Super Attack Peas — all 100-120 have been purchased. Still, there seem to be some Sword of White Lies Battledome items left… perhaps you can stalk the cove and snag one of these yourself!

RIP.

Items in the cove stock on the exact minute, such as 03:20:00 and not 03:20:14.

They stock anywhere from 1-3 at a time, though generally only one.

PAYING FOR ITEMS AT THE SMUGGLERS COVE

Items in the cove range in price, but they must always be purchased with dubloons. You simply need to have them in your inventory and they will work at the cove.

There are many ways to obtain dubloons:

  • Dailies. Certain dailies give out dubloons regularly (and randomly):
  • Regular Shop Wizard / SSW
    • Dubloons in denominations up to Five Hundred Dubloon Coin can regularly be purchased via Shop Wizard and Super Shop Wizard
  • Trading Post
    • Go here to purchase a One Thousand Dubloon Coin

Don’t forget that if you want take your small denomination dubloons and exchange them for high denomination dubloons (such as 2 Fifty Dubloon Coins for 1 One Hundred Dubloon Coin), you can go here. This isn’t necessary, but it’s a good way to make room in your inventory!

SMUGGLERS COVE TIPS

There’s a lot of different advice floating about the web about Smuggler’s Cove, but the reality of the situation is that there are so few items remaining to stock and there is so little collected data about recent cover purchases. We cannot recommend a specific time to refresh at the cove (like any other shop), though we can recommend that you carry at least 300 dubloons when hanging about there; though 600 is the highest-priced item, so if you want to be able to purchase any single item that appears, it is best to carry this amount. Hesitating about purchasing an item, double checking the price of an item vs. what is in your inventory, retrieving more dubloons from your Safety Deposit Box, or purchasing more dubloons from the shop wiz/SSW will essentially ruin your chance of being able to purchase an item that appears in the cove. Again, because these items are so rare and worth so much, there are many, many sets of eyes waiting for something to appear. Make sure you’re well-prepared, even if you cannot predict when something will appear!

To obtain this avatar, attach a Super Attack Pea (Battledome equipment) to your Pea Chia.

NOTE: While this item is not considered [retired], it will never stock again in Smuggler’s Cove. The only way to obtain this avatar is to purchase one from another user or request someone lend it to you. Remember to always practice safe lending!

NOTES

  • TNT does not keep track of items that are lost when accounts are frozen or purged, nor items that have been duped. This means that there is no way to know exactly how many of each of these items (or any item, for that matter) is still in existence in Neopia today. (see editorial)
  • Always practice caution while refreshing at the cove or any other “shop — the Pant Devil is never too far away! For this reason, it may be wiser to carry smaller denominations of dubloons, which are worth less than higher denominations.

Neopets Secret Ninja Training School Guide

$
0
0

If you (and your neo-wallet) work very hard at training your pet, there will come a time when it graduates from both the Swashbuckling Academy and the Mystery Island Training School. Once this is the case, you’ll need to take up training at the Secret Ninja Academy, also found on Mystery Island. This is only for elite BD pets, so you won’t be able to access it otherwise!

FINDING THE SECRET NINJA SCHOOL

It’s not called “secret” for nothing! The Secret Ninja Training School is located on Mystery Island, up the stairs of the volcano next to the regular Training School. You can find it based on the picture below (or just click the direct link above):

If you don’t have a pet that is eligible to train here — i.e. a pet that is at least level 250 — then  you will get the following message:

Don’t have your feelings hurt! Just train harder.

TRAINING

Training here is exactly like Mystery Island Training School. You simply enroll your pet in a specific course and then pay the codestone(s) required to complete that course. Unlike the MITS, you can cancel the course you selected in order to choose a new course; the only catch is that you have to wait a full 24 hours before you’ll be able to select a new course at all.

Course Type Your Pet’s Level Cost (in Red Codestones) Length of Course
Intermediate 250 1 codestone 4 hours
Adept 300 2 codestones 6 hours
Advanced 400 3 codestones 8 hours
Expert 500 4 codestones 10 hours
Master 600 5 codestones 12 hours
Grand Master 750+ 6 codestones 12 hours

You can train all of your stats here: Strength, Defense, Health (Endurance), Movement (Agility), and Level. Just as with the Swashbuckling Academy and MITS, you cannot train your pet’s stats above twice its level, so always keep your pet’s level in mind!

Cutting down on training time

If 12 hours is simply too much for you to wait, you can head over to Noda’s Fortune Cookies (NC Mall) and purchase a Training Fortune Cookie. They currently cost 125 NC and reduce your training time between 30% and 75% for five days.

PAYING FOR YOUR COURSES: RED CODESTONES

While the Swashbuckling Academy takes dubloons and the Mystery Island Training School takes tan codestones, you must pay for your courses at the Secret Ninja Training School with red codestones. These are generally more expensive than tan codestones, though you are able to use less codestones for a much longer amount of time (see the table above).

Cui Codestone

Kew Codestone

Mag Codestone

Sho Codestone

Vux Codestone

Zed Codestone

WHERE DO YOU GET THESE THINGS?

There are a couple of ways to get red codestones:

  • Make your own! You can throw one of every tan codestone into the Mystery Island volcano and you will receive one random red codestone in return.
  • Purchase from regular Shop Wizard or Super Shop Wizard (SSW). Prices fluctuate occasionally but they are otherwise what you’ll generally see them at on SSW. Because so many players now have SSW, particularly “elite” restockers and resellers, SSW tends to dictate the prices of items more correctly than regular Shop Wiz.
  • Win them in the Battledome. Red codestones can be given out as a prize in the BD. This happens mostly commonly with Jetsam Ace in the Premium-only Cosmic Dome. For non-Premium members, they are given out as a general prize in any dome, but it is quite a rare occurrence. (They say that Koi Warrior has the highest chance of giving them out, though!)
  • Try your luck at the Money Tree. Hey, you never know!

SHOP

You may notice there’s a small shop in the Secret Ninja Training School. Here, you can buy some relatively cheap goods, listed here.

NOTES

  • You are free to train any eligible pets on your side accounts. Make sure that the codestones or NP to buy codestones for these side account pets are from your main account!
  • Just like with the Swashbuckling Academy and Mystery Island Training School, you can receive super bonuses at the Ninja School. Here, though, you will always receive at least two extra bonus points instead of one!

Games Master Challenge 2016

$

While it is all fun and games to play Neopets, things always get a little interesting during the annual Games Master Challenge. This year, the GMC lineup features our usual cast of AAA and his lovely cousin Lulu; the two have paired up with Taelia and Ember, the Snow and Fire Faeries respectively, to return for an exciting new bout of challenges! Ember is running her own team called Fire, and of course Taelia is representing her own element, Snow. There will be a full 7 days of exciting game themed challenges where each day you’ll complete anywhere from 2 to 5 games with varying goals, equaling to a total of 24 game challenges!

http://neopets-cheats.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/671_aaa_gmc.gif

Beginning 23rd November and running through November 30th, you will need to assign yourself a team in order to compete in the 2015 Challenge. You can heat up the competition with Ember in Fire, or you can freeze your opponents by aligning yourself alongside Taelia in Snow. Upon choosing your allegiance, you will be provided with Team Swag (a wearable, Flames or Snowflake, depending on the team you chose) and you’ll have access to the Daily Challenge page. The challenge page will update with new challenges every day at 12:00:00 AM NST.  Most days you will have a full 24 hours to complete your challenge, though your first challenge will run for a day and a half, November 23 – 24.

(On November 25th, the Games Master Challenge DID NOT update at midnight, it did not update until around noon that day. As of now, there have been no reports of Neopets extending the 2nd day’s challenge for those who were unable to complete the challenge due to this unfortunate delay. November 26th’s challenges updated on time and it seems the GMC is going along schedule despite the delay.)

Alongside AAA’s daily challenges, Lulu is offering her own set of Daily NC Game Challenges as well. To participate in Lulu’s games, you’ll want to head on over to the NC Mall and purchase a Games Master Challenge NC Ticket Pack at 700 NC. Each day Lulu is awarding a NC wearable for participating in the fun and completing her challenges.  While this added feature will create additional prizes, it will not count toward the regular GMC progress, you will complete them separately. If you would like to complete these challenges as well, you will have to do so by spending real money.

Games Master Challenge

Prizes are awarded upon completion in either challenge, NC or Regular. Each challenge, like its prize, is based around your team. If you’ve joined the Snow team for instance, one of your challenges may have a ‘fire-themed’ game challenge, and similarly, your prize may be Snow related. Going to the Challenge page after completing your goal, you will notice that the greyed out prize box has changed to colored; this is an indicator that you’ve successfully completed a challenge. On the Progress page you’ll be able to find the challenges you’ve completed on a larger scale and all consistently on one page, challenges that have been completed on the day they were released are shown with a gold check mark while challenges that have been completed, but not on time, are shown with a green check mark. Usually, there is a bonus prize at the end of the event for completing the challenges on time.

If you’ve ever wanted to hear about the happenings of Neopia, read some original comics, or perhaps ask TNT a question, you’re in luck because Neopia has its very own newspaper — The Neopian Times! This user-based “paper” is released every week by Saturday and is full of many informative and entertaining goodies. Read below to learn how to access the times, get published, and more!

The Neopian Times mascot— the White Weewoo!

THE NEOPIAN TIMES: A (SHORT) HISTORY

The Neopian Times began being published in Winter 1999-2000. It looked much different than it does today! Before its revamp, it was a white page with simple bolded headers, and there were far fewer featured articles. Here is a snapshot of how The Times looked in its second issue:

6 February 2000 issue, edited by “Josh” a.k.a. Mr Shankly

It included puzzles, comics, and stories/serials, all user-submitted, which is not too different than much of the content used today! As The Times became more refined in its design, it also added new regular articles like the Guild Spotlight.

The Times has gone through many revamps since becoming the slick and organized paper it is today. Its other notable format included a table of contents and this famous banner:

And of course, we cannot forget this fantastic and nostalgic layout!

Back when some entries were sent via email!

Today, this is what The Times looks like!

Issue 172 right in time for the holidays, as you can see!

There is a navigation bar in the top, right corner of the screen that can take you to the articles, short stories, and more if you’re looking for something specific. We’ll get more into those sections soon!

Past editors of The Times include Mr. Shankly and Felicia, a.k.a. Snowflake. Darcy, a.k.a. Droplet, is the current editor.

▻ The Mascot

The White Weewoo is The Neopian Times mascot. It has been the unofficial symbol of The Times since 2003. In 2002, a user was adamant about achieving a White Weewoo petpet for one of her pets, to resemble Harry Potter’s white owl Hedwig. The user and her friends submitted tons of content to The Times, subtly and sometimes not-so-subtly mentioning a White Weewoo — which had yet to exist in Neopia — in order to push TNT to create one. The user achieved her goal on 28 October 2003 when the White Weewoo was officially released!

CONTENT

The Neopian Times is a newspaper that features opinion and advice articles, stories and serials, comics, spotlights, and an editorial, all user-submitted. It is important that articles be entertaining, useful, informative, appropriate, and within the diegetic universe that is Neopia. There are important guidelines that need to be followed for every submission, otherwise a submitted article will be rejected. These guidelines are not content-based — you can certainly let your creativity run wild when it comes to submissions!

▻ Articles

Articles in The Times cover a wide-range of informative content and activities in Neopia. These are non-fiction guides, streams of advice, and various information. Game guides are very popular articles, as well as guides on how to obtain certain tricky avatars such as Bon Appétit (from the Kelp restaurant) and guides on how to peruse different Neoboards with their particular lingo. These articles should always be truthful and verified, involve as much necessary information as possible, and be accessible for readers of all levels. This is a site for all ages, and it’s up to those who write articles for The Times to make some of the more difficult aspects of gameplay simpler so everyone can understand!
NOTE: Article word count = 1,000 minimum / 50,000 maximum

▻ Short Stories and Serials

The Times features short stories and series of single stories, all fictional and written by users. The content of these stories must be completely within the world of Neopia and, with few exceptions, cannot involve anything that wouldn’t be found there; for example, if you were writing a story and a character was scared of a spider, they would actually need to be scared of a Spyder, because plain old spiders are not found in Neopia! It’s important that these stories be entertaining, whether they be happy or sad or funny or anything in between. Most importantly, they need to be original! There have been a lot of issues of The Neopian Times, and if a story is not original, it will easily be forgotten (if it can even get published)! Short stories are one of the original and most popular aspects of The Times.
NOTE: Short story word count = 1,200 minimum / 4,000 maximum
NOTE: Series word count = 1,5000 minimum per part / 50,000 maximum per part

▻ Comics

The Neopian Times has its own page of comics that is arguably its best and most popular content every week. These comics are often very funny and make fun of some of the sillier happenings in Neopia, such as the behavior of trolls in the Pound Chat or feeding those troublesome kads. Controversy and light teasings are not off-limits and this mockery can be seen in the comics every week. Drawing talent is not necessary — as long as you try your best and the quality of the scan/image is nice, it doesn’t matter if you draw like a 2-year-old or if you draw like M.C. Escher. For those players that do not speak English as a first language, make sure the text in your image is grammatically correct since TNT will not edit the comic .jpg/.gif to fix spelling or grammar edits; post on the boards or ask a friend to double-check your image before you submit it!
NOTE: File size max = 2oo KB, 470 pixels maximum / .jpg and .gif only

▻ Editorial

The Editorial is a very important part of The Neopian Times. Here, users and TNT can finally be on the same page about some things every week. Users can submit questions and Country Queen (CQ), the current Editorial editor, will pick and answer some questions for the following week. Because the editorial comes out every single week with The Times, many of the questions are very current and about current glitches or miscommunications. CQ generally does not answer questions that have been answered in past issues (such as inquiries about KeyQuest, which is a very popular question). If you ask a question but do not want your username to be displayed alongside the question, for whatever reason, simply mention this at the end of your question and your UN will be removed.
NOTE: While getting an article, story, or comic published in The Times will get you a trophy for your lookup, having a question answered in the Editorial does not award a trophy or count towards the avatars.

GUIDELINES AND SUBMISSIONS

There are very important guidelines and rules when it comes to what sort of content makes its way into an issue of The Neopian Times. While I mentioned the word limits above, there are a lot of other rules. Some brief guidelines can be found on the submissions page. Otherwise, let’s go over some of the DON’Ts in depth!

  • All Neopets rules apply to The Neopian Times.
  • Mild cartoon violence is acceptable, but no blood, gore, etc. is permissible.
  • All content of stories, serials, and (most) comics needs to be realistic to the Neopian universe. This means that things/people/Neopets/items/etc. that do not exist in Neopia should not be part of stories, including but not limited to male Faeries, most technology outside of the Virtupets Space Station (this includes video games, telephones, and televisions), vehicles like cars and planes, police, incurable disease, non-existent pet colors, Neopia origin stories, and any animal, hybrid, or creature that could not be found in Neopia.
  • All spiritual and political topics are not allowed, including but not limited to religion, politics, seances, cults, and origin stories.
  • Adult topics are not allowed, including but not limited to child custody battles, excessive death, prisons, and romantic relationships.
  • Any mentioning of the existence of Jelly World is not allowed.
  • Users should not mention on-site penalties like being frozen or silenced, unless they are mentioning it off-hand or briefly in a guide. Rules should also not be listed or explained, as it is up to users to read the official rules and not rules that have been summarized by others.

Once your appropriate submission is sent in, you will receive a word from the editor in 3-10 days with a neomail that explains if your submission has been accepted, rejected, or held over for a possible future issue. The reasons for rejection will be listed, and you do have the option of “fixing” your submission and re-submitting. If your article is being held over, you do not need to re-submit; rest assured that they have it, and you’ll hear back about it (again) soon!

You can co-write articles with your NeoFriends. Simply add their UN to the authors’ box when you are submitting your piece and you both will receive eligible trophies and avatars if the piece is published!

TROPHIES AND AVATARS

Being published in The Times definitely pays off! Any published author gets a shiny golden trophy for their lookups:

Neopian Times Champion! Good job!

If you get published multiple times, the amount of trophies you have won’t grow, but underneath your trophy will say x2, x3, x4, etc., based on how many times you’ve been published.

There are also two beautiful avatars that can be “won” from submitting to The Neopian Times. But don’t get your hopes up too quickly because these are tough to get and take a lot of dedication and patience!

Get published in The Neopian Times 10 times.

Get published in one of The Neopian Times’ every 50 issues,
i.e. issues ending in ’00’ or ’50’ (beginning since Issue 200).

Getting published in “landmark” issues like #300, #350, etc. can get those authors some other interesting and special awards, such as the prized Neopian Times White Weewoo Plushie!

NOTES

  • You can access past issues in the The Neopian Times archive, and issues 1 to 150 at this archive.
  • Chet Flash is a name you might see in The Times. He was created by the Neopian Times Writers’ Forum for really no reason besides to have a never-before-seen-nor-heard character that could be namedropped every once in a while. You may see his signature line, “Chet Flash wuz here,” but you’ll never see the man himself!
  • The editor and artists pick the images that are displayed with the stories and articles in The Times. The images that are displayed with the stories are generally original, unique images never before seen!

Neopets Side Accounts Guide

$
0
0

Side accounts are essential for regular players that want to do more than the bare minimum in pet trading, but they have their other uses too! There are a lot of reasons to want and need to use them, but there are a lot and I mean a lot of rules when it comes to using side accounts. So, read more below to make sure that you know exactly how, when, and why you can use your accounts.

WHAT ARE SIDE ACCOUNTS?

Users are allowed to have five accounts on Neopets. Generally, users play on a main account and then have anywhere from one to four side accounts. The biggest difference between a main account and side account is that Neopoints and items can only be earned on main accounts. A main account is the account in which you play dailies, buy and sell items, and make Neopoints, as well as collect avatars and train BattleDome pets, among other things. That means you cannot do dailies, play BattleDome, or collect certain avatars (such as the Forgotten Shore Avatar, because you would be collecting items and Neopoints from the Shore while trying for the avatar), among others, on side accounts. So what can you do on your side accounts? Anything besides making neopoints and earning items! These accounts can be used for holding pets, using a lab ray, having another gallery, or chatting (especially if you’re silenced on your main account for any reason). A side account is not a primary account, and it won’t be used as frequently as a main account. Still, they can be super useful!

Before you start creating and using side account, it’s very important that you study the rules that apply to sides. This is particularly important because misusing a side account puts your main account at jeopardy of being frozen. TNT doesn’t mess around when it comes to multiple account abuse and neither should you!

SENDING ITEMS AND NEOPOINTS TO YOUR SIDE

This issue tends to be the biggest concern for people in regards to their sides. To get items/neopoints on a side account, you can do the following:

  • Directly send items to your side account(s) from your main
  • Send a piece of junk to your side account from your main, and then use that piece of junk to create a trade on the Trading Post between your main account and side account. Remember, you cannot use the Trading Post on your side account to trade with other players – only yourself!
  • Set up a trade or auction and transfer neopoints from your main to your side(s), and then buy whatever items you like from user shops/adopt and pound pets/etc.

SIDE ACCOUNTS: DOs AND DON’Ts

The first rule of using a side account is making sure that you only do something on your side account if you’re certain that it’s okay! Otherwise, check out the lists below that list what is and is not allowed on side accounts:

▻ DO:

  • Start a gallery! Storing and displaying items on side accounts is okay. Make sure the items that you’d like to put in your gallery are safely transferred from your main.
  • Store pets! Let’s be honest – 4 or 5 (if you have Premium) pets is not enough. With new pet colors coming out regularly, you need to collect them all! Okay, well not all, but there’s no shame in wanting to hoard all of the Peophins. You can hold up to 4 pets on each of your side accounts, meaning that between a main account and four side accounts, users can have 20 or 21 (if you have Premium) pets. Feel free to adopt/pound/transfer pets.
  • Pound surf! Looking for a new pet to love? Looking for a new lab rat? Whatever the reason may be, you are free to adopt/pound/transfer pets on side accounts, and this includes surfing the pound and hopefully finding your next permie!
  • Have a lab ray! You are allowed to have up to five lab rays, meaning one on each account. You need to buy a new lab map set for each side account. Remember that you can only use Lab Cookies on a side account if you do not have a lab ray on your main account (see the Editorial response).
  • Collect certain avatars! It is okay to collect avatars known as “clickables,” meaning all you need to do to earn them is to click certain pages. As well, you can collect pet avatars and most lendable avatars. That being said, some avatars come from dailies, playing games, restocking, and battling someone else’s pets, meaning they are not okay to do on your side account. If you’re considering doing some mild avatar collecting on a side, proceed with caution and double-check that the avatar you’re collecting is legal.
  • Redeem and purchase Neocash! You can redeem Neocash cards or buy through the site (we recommend using the cards and only purchasing via paypal if necessary, for your own security) on sides. This is one of the best ways to get gift boxes to transfer your NC items between accounts.
  • Collect NC freebies! Occasionally, the NC Mall will release free gift boxes and goodie bags. You are free to collect these on each of your side accounts!
  • Join a guild! You are free to join a guild on every account you have. In fact, you can even create your own guild(s).
  • Create a Neohome! If one Neohome is not enough for you, feel free to create a second (and third and fourth and fifth) on your side account. Make sure that the items that go in your side account Neohomes are safely transferred from your main.
  • Complete random Faerie quests! You are allowed to keep items and neopoints from Random Events on side accounts, and this means you can also complete Faerie quests that may appear. Make sure the item(s) that you give the Faerie is transferred safely from your main account.
  • Train your pets! It is okay to train your pets at the Swashbuckling Academy, Mystery Island Training School, and Secret Ninja Training School. Remember that any dubloons or codestones that need to be used as payment should be safely transferred from your main account. You can take advantage of free training on a pet’s certain day.
  • Achieve pet awards! If you have a pet on a side account that is itching for a Book Trophy or a Gourmet Food card, you are free to send books/foods/etc. to your side account and help that pet achieve its goal.
  • Enter certain contests! Some contests give no neopoint or item prizes, so you’re free to enter them from your side accounts. Notice that I said enter the contests – not vote!
    • Beauty Contest
    • Customization Spotlight
    • Pet Spotlight
    • Site Spotlight
    • Neohome Spotlight
    • Userlookup Spotlight
  • Use your side as a main if you are frozen! If you are frozen on your main account for any reason, you are free to use a side account as a main account in the meantime. If your main is unfrozen and you no longer want to use it as your main account, you can continue using the side account as your new main. It is okay to transfer main accounts but it is not okay to jump between accounts (i.e. making neopoints on your side one day and your main another day). Use common sense with this one (see the Editorial response).

▻ DON’T:

  • Do dailies. Most dailies give (cheap) neopoint items or pure neopoints, and we know that is not allowed on side accounts; this includes but is not limited to spinning wheels, visiting Coltzan, Grave Danger, visiting the Lost Tomb, and playing Kiko Pop. You can do very certain and few dailies that give no prizes such as Deadly Dice. Use common sense!
  • Purchase Premium. It is against the rules to have Premium on multiple accounts.
  • Play games. Playing games earns neopoints by sending scores. If you want a nice trophy for your side account, you’re out of luck. Practice games and submit scores on your main account only. (This includes NeoQuest, Sewage Surfer, and the like.)
  • Use the Trading Post or Auction House. It’s okay to use the TP or Auctions to transfer items/neopoints between your own accounts, but it is not okay to use the TP or Auction to exchange items/neopoints with other players even if the neopoints you are using came from your main account. If you have business to attend to in the Trading Post or Auction House, simply do it on your main account and transfer the item(s) to your side(s) afterwards.
  • Open a shop. While you will not get frozen for having a shop on a side account, you can get yourself into trouble by selling items in it. Keep it empty! It doesn’t matter if the items you’re selling come from your main; sell them there.
  • Open a bank account. It is not against the rules to store neopoints on a side account, but opening a bank account gives you the opportunity to collect interest on those neopoints. Remember: earning neopoints on a side is against the rules! While you theoretically could store neopoints there and avoid collecting interest, it’s better safe than sorry to keep your neopoints on your main account where you can collect interest.
  • Use Fortune Cookies. While Fortune Cookies are super useful NC items, and while most NC items are allowed on side accounts, taking advantage of fortune cookies on side accounts is mostly prohibited. You cannot open Faerie Quest Cookies, can only open Lab Ray Cookies if you have no lab on your main account, cannot open Training Cookies, cannot open Upcycle Cookies (because they can give neopoint items), and cannot open Games or Wild Card Fortune Cookies. You are expected to open NC Fortune Cookies on your main account and send the items inside to your sides if you would like them there. That’s a lot of cookies to avoid!
  • Play Trudy’s Surprise. This should come as no surprise: you cannot play Trudy on a side account because it earns neopoints. Even if you only want the boxes and you donate the neopoints to the Money Tree, you cannot play Trudy’s Surprise on a side account. Don’t look at me, I don’t make the rules. Disable Trudy from appearing on your side accounts under Preferences.
  • Play in the BattleDome. BattleDome wins give neopoints and prizes, so this is off-limits for side accounts.
  • Collect monthly freebies. You cannot get free neopoint items on your side accounts – stick to free NC only.
  • Participate in plots. Plots may be fun, but they give out too many neopoint items to be completed on side accounts. Stick to your main where you can earn the applicable avatars and site themes!
  • Restock. You should only be restocking on your main account. If you get temporarily restock banned, it is against the rules to continue restocking on a side.
  • Enter certain contests. Some contests give neopoints and items as prizes, so they cannot be entered. This includes:
    • Better Than You
    • Lenny Conundrum
    • Caption Contest
    • Mystery Picture Competition
    • Story Telling Contest
    • Poetry Contest
    • Random Contest
    • Gallery Spotlight
    • Adventure Spotlight
    • Art Gallery
  • Vote in contests. You cannot vote in any contests on your side account, including the Beauty Contest and the Customization Spotlight. If you want to vote, do it on your main! Advertising should be done on whichever account is entered in a contest.
  • Use your side as a main when you are suspended. If you are silenced or suspended, all rules about main and side accounts still apply. Wait it out.

I ACCIDENTALLY DID A “DON’T” ON MY SIDE ACCOUNT – UH OH!

Take a deep breath. We’ve all accidentally done something we weren’t supposed to do on a side account. It’s important that you learn from this mistake and be extra careful not to do it again. That being said, there are steps you should take to make sure that TNT knows you are not abusing multiple accounts.

The first thing you should do is donate any items and neopoints you’ve accidentally accumulated to the Money Tree. At least something good will come out of your mistake!

Otherwise, very infrequent slip-ups won’t get you frozen. TNT understands a few human errors, but do understand that multiple errors will arouse suspicion. Take precaution against making these mistakes by changing your site theme or setting PINs different from your main.

Neopets make mistakes too…

NOTES

  • If you want to know about experienced/loyal/aged user perks on side accounts, check out our Loyal Users Guide.
  • You cannot use the Neopets Referral Programme to create your side accounts. Click the link to learn more from our guide.
  • If you think anything about side accounts is vague or dangerous, let TNT know by sending in a question to the editorial! Get your friends to do it too, for a quicker response.

Is Neopets Down for You or Everyone?

$
0
0

It’s a beautiful day outside, the birds are singing and the sun is bright high in the sky. You wake up feeling refreshed and determinate how you will spend this beautiful day: playing Neopets until 3:00am. Your turn on your computer, you go to www.neopets.com and then the worse happens… NOTHING. You ask yourself, is Neopets down. If so, is Neopets down for me, or everyone?

It doesn’t load, or it takes too much time to load and eventually the connection is lost. No clear signs of it being down, no crying bright Red Pteri welcoming you with the terrible message “Neopets is temporarily offline”, nothing at all… and you clearly start to panic. What to do? Is this just me or is my internet connection? So many questions, but no answers.

Stop! Don’t panic! I’m here to help you! The first thing you need to do is to go to check if the site is really down or not. For this, you can use some pages like DownForEveryoneOrJustMe, IsItDownRightNow or CurrentlyDown – You’ll see a little space where you need to write the name of the domain that you want to check. In this case, you’ll have to type in ‘neopets.com’ without the www or http. The page will take a couple seconds to load and get the data from the site, and it will show you the result.

You’ll either get a page saying that the site is currently down, or if the site is up.

Neopets.com availability chart

What to do if Neopets is down for everyone?

Looks like the site agreed and noticed that Neopets is down for everyone. Websites go “down” for a number of reasons. They may be doing maintenance on the site, or the server it’s on may be having problems and had to be reset. Usually, TNT will let the community know beforehand when the site will be in maintenance by publishing it on the news, like the followed example:

“ATTENTION NEOPIA – Please be aware that Neopets.com may experience occasional downtime due to scheduled maintenance by our server providers between 8:00 AM Tuesday, Jan 12 – 8:00 AM Friday, Jan 15 NST/PST. During this time you might find the site unavailable, so any further updates from TNT can be found on our official Facebook or Twitter. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause!”

Neopets Down

So a good way to not be surprised when the game is down, is to check the News often. If you forgot to check the news recently, and Neopets is not working, you should check their Facebook or Twitter page in order to see if they have announced anything related to this. At the same time, you’ll be able to check if anyone else has commented about sharing the same issue on their pages, which will also help you to make sure that is indeed a general down time that the site is suffering.

Now, the only thing that is left to do is waiting for Neopets to get back up, which might take minutes or hours. You can get updated by checking the official Neopets social network pages or, by just refreshing the site once in a while.

What to do if Neopets is up but it won’t load for me?

If all the sites that check if a site is down or not, are telling you that Neopets is running without problems, then there is something bad in your side… which might be a little bit more problematic, but don’t worry, there are things you can do to try to fix this problem. First things first: are you using an internet connection in which you’ve successfully enter Neopets in the past? You are sure that Neopets is not blocked in your computer or that you’re not using a public connection that blocks sites of games? (That last thing is pretty common in schools for example).

Neopets Down

If you are sure you should be able to get inside Neopets, try deleting the cookies of your browser. This is pretty helpful and tends to work most of times when a problem like this pops up. You don’t know how to do this? Then check the instructions for the browser you are using below:

1) Internet Explorer: Start by entering the browser, go to Control Panel and click twice in Internet options. You’ll see a ‘Delete temportal files’ under the general tab, which you’ll need to click and then select the ‘cookies’ option when the popup window appears. Delete, wait a few seconds and it will be done.

2) Firefox: Click on the Firefox button, select Options and go to Privacy. After this, select the ‘Show Cookies’ button which will appear on the right side. Select the History menu and pick out ‘Clear Recent History’, make sure you select to delete everything. Go to the details by clicking on the arrow and Clear all cookies. Might take a few seconds to load as well, just let it run.

3) Chrome: Start by clicking on the Settings and then ‘Show advanced settings’ which will appear by the bottom. Under ‘Privacy’ click on ‘Content Settings’, and then click on ‘Cookies’, redirecting yourself towards ‘All cookies and site data’. Select to Remove them All.

4) Safari: Click the Safari preferences, going then to ‘Privacy’ and check their Details. You will see a list of sites that are storing cookies inside your computer and you can remove single sites by clicking the ‘Remove’ button and selecting a site or to ‘Remove All.’ Finish the process by clicking on ‘Done’.

5) Opera: Go to the ‘Settings’ at the top of your browser and then select Advanced Preferences, which will give you an option to click on ‘Cookies’. Here you can accept all cookies, accept cookies only from sites you visit, and never accept cookies. The best choice would be to accept cookies only from sites you visit. Finally click on ‘Delete new cookies when exiting Opera’ and restart the browser.

After cleaning the cookies of your browser, close it and open it again. If Neopets still doesn’t load for you, try a different browser and if the process repeats itself, then move to this steps: Check all I/O cables, including those attached to your PC, router, network, and cable or DSL modem. If you’re on a wireless connection, try plugging in with a cable. Next, try restarting your computer and, if applicable, your router and/or modem. Restart, not reset: just unplug them, wait 30 seconds, then plug them back in again and let them reboot.

Is Neopets Down

If nothing of this works, then the problem might be a little bit deeper. Consider sending a mail to support@neopets.com telling them about your bug report. Most likely they will be able to tell you if there is anything wrong with your current connection to the game.

If you have done some major ilegit activities inside Neopets you might have been IP banned from the site. If you want to check if this is true, change your IP by using Incognito mode in Chrome (easiest way in case you don’t want to download a program that does it for you) and if the game does load in Incognito mode, then you are most likely IP banned. If this is correct, all what is left is to send a ticket to the same mail shared before, or to just continue playing the game with a new IP by using a VPN.

I hope this guide was helpful in order to inform yourself and fix your problem! Happy playing!

– Part One (A) –
1. You start off by going to the Hall of Heroes.
2. Then talk to the Janitor in the back.
3. Push the sun shaped button beside him.
4. Leave and go to the quarry.
5. Then head over to the Archives and try to get the book that’s propping up the table leg.
6. Go back to the quarry and pick up a flat rock.
7. Now, you go back to the Archives and switch the rock for the book, but clicking the book.
8. Click the book that’s now on the podium. It’s blank except for the first 3 pages.
9. Return to the Hall of Heroes yet again.
10. Click on the janitor fellow again.
11. Push the button again. He now says something different. He’s talking about how the wheels may be rusty and dusty.
12. This next part is tricky, click on a statue and move your mouse over the very top until the little hand appears, that will take you to the ceiling. From there, go to another statue and a bottle of oil should appear. The oil is random and you may have to click many statues. (It took be about 4 or so statues before I found it).
13. Go back to the janitor and click the button, it works this time.
14. Again, go back to the Archives. You don’t have to do this, but it doesn’t hurt.
15. Go back, again, to the Hall of Heroes. Go to the statues and click on the ceiling again, dots now appear. If you connect them correctly, you’ll find out the constellation pattern for that statue.
16. Take them stairs, which are located when you first enter the HOH (Hall of Heroes) off to the left in the back. (They appear after you do all the stuff above.) Or you can click on the statue of Gordos the Collector and get to them that way.
17. If everything has been done correctly up to this point, you should be able to join theAstronomy Club.
18. When you first enter the Altadorian Archives, you see a bulletin board in front of you, there is no longer underwater basket weaving, it has been replaced by the astronomy club. You can click the paper to go to the astronomy club.
19. Go back to the Archives.
20. The janitor too has something to add.
21. Follow the stairs again and it leads into an observatory. Click the telescope stand.
*Don’t forget to go here to get your coordinates.
22. After you have found them, go back to the
observatory and enter your constellation coordinates.
– Part One (B) –
1. Head to the Restive Tomb.
2. Once there, click on the markings on the door. (The three diagonal dots, either set).
3. After that, head over to the Archivist.
4. Following that, go to the Hall of Heroes(HOH), and then from there, the Observatory.
*If You Need Help go Here to get all the coordinates.
5. Once you have found your constellation, connect them so they resemble what was on the door. Then click submit. After it says you have found a new constellation, head back to theArchivist.
6. Then read The Book.
7. After all is said and done, head by the Astronomy Club, then back to the HOH, and click on the Sleeper’s statue, then her ceiling.
– Part Two –
1. So we’re back on Altador’s front page, and looking around we notice the nice clouds. How about clicking on the clouds that are furthest right?
2. Wow, such a nice view of… clouds? Wait, why don’t you try and click on the litle spaces between the clouds?
Aha! They form *another* constellation.
3. Let’s go see what the Archivist has to say about this, shall we?
4. After this, we head on over to the HOH, and go up to the Observatory.
*Don’t forget about your Coordinates.*
5. It may take a while, but you’ll get the constellation right, I had a time with it as well. It’s the bottom part of the constellation that throws you off.
6. Go talk to the janitor and see what he says.
7. We all know what to do now, go to the Archivist and then the book.

– Part Three –
1. Go to the Restive Tomb , and once there click on the furthest left side’s most southern corner. Or tab three times and hit enter.
2. If this worked, you should be facing Altador, with the observatory, with a ray of light going through, in the center.
3. From there, click Return to Altador, then go to the HOH and click on the Dancer.

2. From there, at any of the shops, check the inflation rate of that shop.
3. Then go to your<ahref=”http: www.neopets.com=”” bank.phtml”=””> bank account and either withdraw or put in neopoints until you have the same amout of neopoints on hand as the inflation rate. (ex. if inflation is 2.64%, take out 264 np, or put in until you have that much).
4. Go back to the shop where you got the inflation and there should be an item there, which will have the constellation on it.
5. Then go to see the Archivist!

1. You are looking for a Vaeolus petpet! He is either at the Docks, the Quarry, or the Farm. It is different for everyone.
2. This poor little Vaeolus seems to have had his flames extinguished, and has been severely injured! Perhaps you should take him to the Archivist. He might know what to do.
3. The archivist says, “Oh my! What a poor little Vaeolus! I wonder what happened to his owner. He seems very ill!” He’s not much help. Head over to the bullentin board. Click on the purple potion for the Alchemy Club.
4. “Hmm, so you’re looking for medicine, eh? I’ve got a potion that could help you out… for a price!”

Elixir of Petpet Healing
30,000 NP

The quiggle cackles at you and demands 30,000 neopoints for the medicine! What a jerk!
5. Click on the medicine even if you don’t have enough Neopoints.
The Archivist storms over and swats the Quiggle on the hand. “Hey! No selling of items is allowed in the Archives! Why are you such a troublemaker, anyway?” He mutters angrily and retreats to his office. Click Continue.
6. Follow The Archivist into his office. The Vaeolus is in the upper left-hand corner. Click on him. It will give you the following options:
Give Medicine
Wait
Check in on the Vaelous

7. Next we need to go get some more options for our petpet. Go to the Colosseum and find the Punch Club (click on the windows until you find the Grarrl). Once at the Punch Club, click on the pie on the table. Hooray we have a piece of Blueberry Pie!!
8. Then head over to the Restive Tomb. Click on the door to enter the tomb.
Oh no! An angry, mummified Gelatinous Non-Cube is roaming around the tomb!

There will be a small bit in the lower right hand corner coming off, click it to get the mummy bandages!
9. Now it’s time to take care of the petpet. You should have the following options:
Feed, Bandage, Give medicine, Wait, Check in on the Vaeolus
The Vaeolus changes every minute. You’ll need to refresh the page after a minute and take care of him. Here’s a break-down of each option.
Feed – Do this when he has his tongue sticking out
Bandage – Do this when he holds his paw out
Give medicine – Do this when he looks like he’s about to throw up!
Wait – Do this when he is laying down
Check in on the Vaeolus – Do this after each minute
Refresh the page each minute and tend to him accordingly.
10. ***IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS HEALING YOUR VAEOLUS***
Start off by curing what is wrong with him. After a minute click on “Check in on the Vaeolus”. After each time you should start to build up some numbers in your web address bar at the end of the url. They should look like this: av1=feed&av2=feed&av3=meds&av4=meds&av5=wait&av6=feed&av7=wait&av8=feed
After each time, you get get a new av. Example: First time I feed him, then after a minute I clicked check in and his stats changed and it said av1=feed, I feed him again, waited another minute, clicked check in and his stats changed and it said av2=feed, and so on. He DOES repeat things. Once you get to av9…you should see a Skeith pop up at the bottom of the page.
11. The Vaeolus seems to be feeling better!
A Skeith knocks on the door just then. “Why, hello there!” he says. “I’m from the Petpet Protection League, and I heard you were nursing this poor little creature back to health. Very helpful of you! I’d like to present you with this certificate on behalf of the PPL!”
Click on the Watermark on the Certificate. It’s your new constellation!!
12. Go the the Archivist for your new coordinates.
13. Go to the telescope and find your Gatherer constellation.
14. The gems above the statue of Fauna, the Gatherer, begin to glow!
15. The janitor says, “Wow, it’s getting really bright in here with all these gems lighting up on the ceiling. Only two left! I wonder if anything special happens when all of them are lit up. Now that would be something to see.”
16. Head back to the Archivist for a full update!
17. Hey where’s the Astronomy Club President?

– Part Eleven –
1. Head to the Rock Quarry and go up the path. Here you will reach the city wall.
2. Click on the bottom right hand stone on the wall. Here you will find the Minitheus. Click on the amulet & click continue.
3. Go to the Farm. The farmer’s crops are drying up!
4. Next, go to the Water Plant. It’s the water tower right above the archives. You need to get the water levels right in order to save Altador from flooding and to water the farmer’s plants. Click on the door below the shoyru. There are 3 areas with levers and valves. When you first enter, you’re in the middle room. There’s another room to your left and to your right. There’s no proven way to do this…and I just messed around and got it right. Go to each of the rooms and click on the valves and levers. You do NOT want to flood Altador but if you do the water plant will reset. Once you’ve gotten it correct, you will see this:

5. Go back to the Minitheus (in the Rock Quarry) and click on the amulet. You will see the newest constellation, the Protector!!
6. Go back to the Farm to see what the farmer has to say.
7. Head over to the Archivist for your new coordinates.
8. Go to the telescope and find your Protector constellation.
9. What? The Gems stopped glowing?!
10. The janitor shouts, “HEY!! Why are the lights off?! I was having fun looking at them, all shiny and stuff… RAAARGHH!! IT REALLY MAKES ME ANGRY WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OFF!!”
11. Head back to the Archivist for a full update!
12. Head over to the Astronomy Club to see what happens to the president.
13. We’re not sure if this is it. Only one more constellation left! In the meantime, keep exploring Altador.
14. In the newest Neopian Times Editorial, here’s what TNT has to say about the plot:
Have TNT officially released the Altador Plot yet? Because when they released a new screensaver, they said “If your screen needs some saving, why not download this new Screensaver featuing the constellations from the Altador Plot?” Sooo… has it been released or what?!?!?!?! Thanks for clearing it up! ~xwiltedx
Erm… yes. It’s currently still in progress, as a matter of fact! Has been for about a month. If you haven’t started yet, you’d best get busy! There’s not much time left. 😉
Hi! I was just wondering about the altadorian plot. Usually a comic comes out, and I’m really looking foward to it, especially because it’s taking place in Faerieland, which is my favorite. So, are they coming out soon? I’m sure they’ll be fantastic. =) (like always!) ~ skittlezmaniac
We’re glad you like the comics! But that probably means you’ll be disappointed with our answer to your question. :) The Altador plot is a “mini-plot” so there will be no comic to speak of. It’s taking place entirely in Altador. (:o! Was that a hint for future clues?!) The portal in Faerieland is merely the current way to get to Altador. This plot is basically something we’re doing to hopefully entertain everyone while we’re planning our next big event. Oops… erm, there’s no big event coming soon… like in June or something. Honest. If there were, though, it wouldn’t involve the Battledome. Seriously. There is no war planned for quite a while. *slays rumour and hopes weapon and codestone prices will drop a bit, finally*

Neopets BD Battling Guide (For Newcomers)

The Neopets Battledome is, obviously, a dome where you will be able to fight against other challengers to see if you’re strong enough to win, or not. One player challenges can be fought against, which are opponents that are controlled by the computer. Alternatively, you can decide to go fight against real pets owned by real player in the 2 player mode that is also offered to you. The Neopets Battledome can also give you a site trophy, for example, after beating the Punchbag Bob, and it will grant you themes after plots. It all start with misinformation, then it comes to anger, then to bloody battles where there will be only one victorious. If you’re really curious about knowing who the predator is, and who the prey is, then the Neopets Battledome is where you must go.

Basic Information

Your pet has a stats that are not a waste of space, but they rather describe the skills of your current pet(s). Any pet will have HP, which are health points and are the most fundamental points, simply because no HP = loss. What comes next is the strength of your pet, which determines how many total damage can be done to your opponent, depending of your weapons. Another factor is your defence, which is what keeps you standing in the battle for x amount of time. Agility, which is let down by many BD players, is not as crucial as strength and defence, but all of these factors will have a more detailed description below.

You may also want to equip your pet with weapons, otherwise how would it be possible to battle? To do that, it will all depend of the amount of NP you have. The more you play games, the more NP you will get and the better BD weapons will be available to you, simply because your budget will be greater then. Of course, some of the best BD weapons will cost millions, but this should not be a problem for you as there is a big variety of highly rated weapons for new BD starters. To equip a weapon to your pet, simply go to your inventory, click on the desired item and choose the “Equip to (Name of Pet)”. Note: Make sure that if you have a ferocious pet, for example, like a Grarrl, to not feed it to him as there will be no refund given to you.

Many weapons can also be obtained through events and plots that come to Neopets once in a while, and where you will be able to participate to get some of better weapons. Note that even if the awarded weapon(s) don’t suit your needs, you will be able to sell a big amount of your prizes and receive a lot of NP, raising your budget and leading you to get better NP weapons, slowly but surely.

Training your pet

Training your pet will give you more success in the Battledome. To train your pet, there are various ways. For example, you can purchase the Secret Laboratory, which can be accessed once a day after you purchase all 9 maps that will cost you approximately 1.5 million NP. Expensive you say? Not quite. The Secret Laboratory Maps are very important when you play Neopets because of their ability to boost or to damage your pet. The lab will not only change the color of your pet to almost any, or change your pet’s specie / gender, but it will also give or take points to / from your strength, defence, agility and HP. Note that it will not be able to take maximum hit points.

If you’re not the type of person who likes to take gambles, alternatively, you can decide to train at the Swashbuckling Academy that is located in Krawk Island, and take courses from a Pirate that will ask you to pay him with dubloons, which will cost you approximately 2,000 NP. You will have to start by raising up its level first, then you will be able to increase his / her strength, defence, agility and HP. Every course will take time, depending on its level and the more he will progress, the pricier the courses will get. Though, you should note that even if the Swashbuckling Academy is cheap enough, your pet will not be able to achieve a higher level than 40. Because of that, you should consider the Mystery Island Training School, which is obviously located at the Mystery Island and which will be a little more pricey but faster, and there you will be able to train your pet up to level 250.

Attack

Of course, you will want to do damage in the Battledome, unless you’re just in there to look at your opponent. You literally have no chance of winning if you’re not going to do some damage. You should know that the damage done is calculated by the number of the icons that the specific weapon does. The possibly icons that can be done through a battle are:

Air, Earth, Dark, Light, Fire, Water and Physical damage.

Weapons have attack icons they can inflict to your opponent. You guessed right, the more icons you do, the more damage you deal to your opponent. For that reason, the weapons with massive icons will be able to deal the more damage. To know the amount of damage you are going to deal, you will have to consider the strength of your pet. Below is a little explanation that will describe the number of damage done per icon to your opponent, out of him maximum HP, depending on your strength.

Damage done per icon depending of your pet’s strength:

Having 7 or less strength points will do a total of 0.5 damage to your opponent per icon. For example, if you have a sword that does 6 icons, and you have less than 7 strength, you will do a total of 6 x 0.5 = 3 icons. Having from 8 to 12 strength point will do 0.75 damage to your opponent. When the damage done is below 1 for the lower strength points, it is not really in your advantage to start battles. Wait to reach from 13 to 19 strength points, atleast, because then you will be able to start doing 1 damage per icon. From 20 to 34 strength points, you will be able to deal 1.25 damage per icon and from 35 to 54 points, a total of 1.5 damage per icons. 55-84 strength points will get you 2 damage per icon and 85-124 strength points, 2.5 damage per icon. Once you reach the 125 point mark, you will be able to do 3 damage per icon and it will take longer, with more effort to do more damage. Once you reach 200 strength point, a total of 0.5 damage per 49 points will be added. For example, from 200 to 249, you can do 4.5 damage per icon, from 250 to 299, you will be able to do 5 damage per icon, etc. However, from 450 strength points to 499, you be able to do 1.25 more damage, then every 49 points will start awarding you with 1 damage per icon. The reason behind that is once you reach the 400 strength points, it will become really pricey and hard to train up, because of the amount of NP and because of the time it will take you to get there. You should note that there are also items that are able to give you some extra strength points. Finally, when you reach level 750, you will be able to deal 16 damage per icon, which is a lot and it is not possible to do more damage than that. For example, a pet with 750 strength points will do the exact same damage per icon (16) to a pet that is level 10,000. At this point, strength doesn’t matter anymore.

If you’re wondering how many damage you will be doing to your opponent, before the battle even starts, you should look at your strength points and refer to the guide above to calculate. For example, if your pet has 31 strength points, and from the guide above, you can find that from 20-34 strength points you will be able to deal 1.25 damage per icon. For that reason, you can look at the amount of icons your weapon does and multiply that number by 1.25, and you should get the maximum amount of damage you will be able to do with that specific weapon. Since, during a battle, you will also be able to use another equipped item at the same time, if you’re planning on going pure attack, you should also calculate the other weapon’s amount of damage, then do Weapon 1 damage + Weapon 2 damage. This way, you will get a good idea about what you can deal.

Defense

Defense works like the attack, meaning that you will be able to defend yourself of icons depending of the number of defense points you have. Note that you will have to own the weapon that defends you from the icons of your opponent to be successfully able to block it. For example, if your opponent is attacking you with Sword of Reif, which is a combination of physical and fire damage, and that you only have a shield that will block water, then you will receive full damage. You can’t just rely on your defense to minimize the damage. It doesn’t work like that: you will have to block the icons of your opponent in order to avoid damage. The guide below will give you an idea about the amount of damage you will be able to block per icon, depending on your defense points. The damage means the number of HP that will be taken from you, when attacked.

Having 7 or less defense points will do a total of 0.5 damage to your opponent per icon. For example, if you have a shield that blocks 6 icons, and you have less than 7 defense, you will be able to avoid a total of 6 x 0.5 = 3 icons. Having from 8 to 12 defense point will avoid 0.75 damage that are done by your opponent. When the damage done to you is below 1 for the lower defense points, it is not really in your advantage to start battles. Wait to reach from 13 to 19 defense points, at least, because then you will be able to start blocking 1 damage per icon, if you have a shield, of course. From 20 to 34 defense points, you will be able to block 1.25 damage per icon and from 35 to 54 points, a total of 1.5 damage per icons can be blocked. 55-84 defense points will get you 2 damage block per icon and 85-124 defense points, 2.5 resistance per icon. Once you reach the 125 point mark, you will be able to avoid a total of 3 damage per icon and it will take longer, with more effort to do avoid more damage. Once you reach 200 defense point, a total of 0.5 damage per 49 points will be blocked. For example, from 200 to 249, you can avoid 4.5 damage per icon, from 250 to 299, you will be able to avoid 5 damage per icon, etc. However, from 450 defense points to 499, you will be able to block 1.25 more damage, then every 49 points will start awarding you with 1 defense per icon. The reason behind that is once you reach the 400 defense points, it will become really pricey and hard to train up, because of the amount of NP and because of the time it will take you to get there. You should note that there are also items that are able to give you some extra defense points. Finally, when you reach level 750, you will be able to fully block 16 damage per icon, which is a lot and it is not possible to block more damage than that. For example, a pet with 750 defense points will block the exact same damage per icon (16) to a pet that is level 10,000. At this point, defense doesn’t matter anymore.

If you have 750 defense points and your opponent has 750 strength points, you will be able to avoid the damage done by your opponent only if you can block all of his icons. Let’s say your opponent has a weapon that can do 10 water icons to you along with 2 light icons. As for you, the only thing you have is a Sponge Shield that can block all of his water icons. You will not be able to block his light icons, though, which means that he will be able to do 2 more icons to you that you will not be able to block. That means a total of 2 x 16 = 32 damage will be done to you by your opponent. This is why shields in the game are important: because even if you have enough defense points, but don’t necessarily have the shields that will be able to block a large amount of icons that are done by your opponent, you will then lose a lot of HP. For that reason, you should also make sure that you only fight against a pet after a logic estimation of whether it will be a fair battle for you or not. Some people tend to think that they’ve trained their pet hard enough and they think they can’t lose a single battle. This is not true. If you go up against someone who has more strength/defense points than you, you will be putting yourself in a luck-based battle, which is something you don’t want. If you’re attempting to send a battle challenge or someone sends one to you, always view his pet to make sure that his/her HP, strength, and defense points are relatively similar to yours, or worse.

Lastly, you should consider the defense points of your opponent depending of your strength, and the other way around to calculate the amount of damage you would like to block. If you have a total of 102 strength points, and your opponent has a total of 95 defense points, the amount of icons he will not be able to block from you will add a total of 0.5 damage to him, because it is like if he has 7 defense points (102-95 = 7, and at 7 points a total of 0.5 damage can be done).

Agility

Agility is only important if you’re looking to steal weapons from your opponent, for the battle time. The Heavy Robe of Thievery is currently what can steal stuff from your opponent’s BD equipment, and the chances will vary depending of the amount of agility points you have, and the amount of intelligence points you have. Agility is not really an important factor in battle, therefore it is not important for many of the players and this is why many pets have agility not trained up. People will focus on strength and defense points, which are essential in battle and will save NP / time from raising their agility points. This is a good option for those who do not want to steal items from their opponents. However, you should note that if you decide not to train it at the same time as your strength and defense points, and that you change your mind later, it will cost you more NP and time to do so simply because your level will be higher then, and courses will get more expensive.

Healing

During a battle, your vital points are measured depending on the total amount of HP your pet has. Once you have 0 of them left, you will then lose the current battle and your opponent will be victorious. In the contrary, if you defeat your weapon, it will mean that he has 0 HP left and he will lose the battle. Let’s say you lose a battle with your pet, he will be at 0 HP and you will have to raise his HP back again. Several Healing Potions can be found in the shop wizard that can help the process of recovery. Most people, however, prefer to use the Healing Springs located in Faerieland. A faerie will raise your points depending of the amount of magic she currently have. If you have a lot of strength points to recover, you can, alternatively, use a Super Strength Healing Potion that can give you back your maximum HP for roughly 2,000 NP.

During a battle, you will sometimes face circumstances where your HP will be very low and you’re about to lose the battle. Some potions, also called Elixirs will be able to be in your BD equipment set during the battle, and will help you to recover your HP whenever needed. Note that only one healing potion / item can be equipped to your pet during the battle. You can not equip more than one. Full healers like the Leaded Elemental Vial and the Jade Scorchstone also exists, which are fundamental for the higher battles and they will cost millions of NP simply because the demand is so high, and there are very few of them.

It is also possible to overheal. For example, if you use a Blue Scorchstone (an overhealer), you will be able to get more hit points than your maximum. For example, if you have 100/100 HP, you will be then at 115/100 and this can be used to your advantage. Extra hit points will only last for the rest of the turn, meaning that you they will get back at 100/100 if your opponent doesn’t attack you. If your opponent attacks you and do 20 damage to you, you will then be left with 95 HP.

Reflectors

During a battle, you will have the opportunity to use items that will reflect the damage done to you by your opponent. A Shovel Plus and some Lens items will be able to reflect some damage, depending of their current effect. Reflection is good because not only it will defend you from your opponent’s attacks, but it will also be able to deal the damage that your opponent tried attacking you with.

http://images.neopets.com/battledome/ghostkerchief_giant.gif

Freezings

Not actual account freezing, but you may want to learn that you can also freeze your opponent during a battle. You will have the chance to add a freezing weapon into your BD set to freeze your opponent and be able to take some advantage over him. This will prevent your opponent from attack during a turn and you will be able to attack him / deal with him the amount of damage you can possibly do. You will also not be able to take any damage during that specific turn.

Freezers will have a freeze rating and it will depend of the freezer itself. You can find a freezer with low to average chance of freezing, and you will also be able to find 100% and multi freezers, which are better.

The less than 100% freezer will freeze your opponent, for example if you use a Red Frost Canon against him. However, you will not be guaranteed to successfully freeze him and once you’ve tried to and have succeeded or failed, you will not be able to be able to use your weapon again during the same battle. Only one freezing attempt can be tried per battle.

The 100% freezers will be able to freeze your opponent once you use the freezing item you have. On many occasions, people will use 100% at the beginning of a 2-player battle so that they can start with a large advantage over their opponent and this will increase their chance of being victorious, simply because the way a battle starts will, most of the time, determine who will win and who will not.

The multi freezers are good for higher leveled pets, simply because they have more HP and will be able to stay in a battle for a longer period of time. Because multi freezers have usually a low chance of freezing, at approximately 15%, you will not be always able to freeze your opponent. These weapons are multi use, though, and if you’re lucky enough with them, you will be able to freeze your opponent a lot of times, leading you to victory.

http://images.neopets.com/battledome/morguss.gif

Item Types

Not all items can be used the same way. Some will stay, and some will go afterward. For that reason, you should know the item types and learn what can be used many times, and what can only be used once. Their description will tell you the item type they are, so that you can make sure you don’t waste your NP because you didn’t know x weapon was that type.

The first item type is when a weapon has the Multiple Use tag. The multiple use means that you can attack with that specific weapon the amount of time you’re looking for, and it will never unavailable, unless your opponent steals it from you. With multiple use items, you can do damage with that item as many times as you wish during the battle, simply because they can be used, theoretically, an infinite amount of times.

The other item type that a weapon can have is the once-per-battle, and their type gives your the perfect idea of their use: one once per battle. Items such as healers and freezers. Also, bombs like the Ghostkerbomb, for example, will only be able to be used once per turn. Just like in real life: when you have a bomb and throw it away you will not be able to throw it again because it will be exploded then. Usually, bombs will do a massive amount of damage and this is the reason they can not be used more than once, otherwise it will be unfair. Same thing for healers and freezers: imagine you were able to freeze your opponent with a 100% freezer during all the turns and heal yourself with a 100% healer for all the turns, then how will your opponent stand a chance?

After that, comes the one-use item types which can only be used once and will vanish forever afterward, meaning that you should know what you’re doing and not waste your NP. Many items that are worth millions of NP are also one-use only. For example, the Eraser of the Dark Faerie, which almost no one has and costs 200 million NP is a one use item, but it will allow you to erase the petpet of your opponent permanently. Evil, eh? Try not wasting a lot of NP on one use items unless you know you will need them. For example, if you can not afford the Leaded Elemental Vial. you can purchase a Jade Elixir for 10,000 NP and use it to fully heal yourself. Make sure that you only use these for very important and serious battles.

Another item type is the fragile. Fragile items will have some chance of breaking through the battle and you will not be able to use them again. A fragile item will stay fragile and you will not be able to unfragilise it. When you have one during a combat, even if you don’t actually use it, it can break and it will not be recovered after the battle.

Semi-Fragile items are the last item types you will have to know about. These items are breakable just like the fragile categorized ones, but when they break, even if you will not be able to use them for the rest of the battle, they will remain in your inventory when it is done just like one-used items, but you will not have to actually use it for it to break.

Lastly, most strategies are based on a combination of multi-use and one-use items, which is what you should look forward if you’re planning on crushing all of your opponents.

http://images.neopets.com/battledome/opponent_pics/103.gif

Abilities

Faerie abilities will grant you an ability that you will be able to use during a battle. A box near your weapons will be available for you to use, but for that you will have to actually train abilities. For that, you will have to purchase Faerie Bottles and use them on your pet. Depending on the Faerie type, you will be given earth, water, air, fire, physical, light or dark abilities by number (usually 1-2 per use). From that, you will be able to go to the Battledome and view your abilities so that you can “purchase” them with your points. Three abilities will be offered for you to learn, per range of levels, and you will only be able to learn of them at the cost of tokens that you got from the faeries. If you change your mind later, you can change the ability but it will cost you more tokens. The higher your level, the more abilities you will be able to learn, and the better they will get. Level 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 are the levels that will offer you an opportunity to learn a new ability.

Now that you have acquired that many information, go battle someone.

Thyoras Tear (r99) – Rating 9.5

Thyoras Tear

Thoyras Tear is a very rare weapon that is quite expensive, priced in the 30 million NP range. It is a once per battle weapon, but it is worth the price. Why you may ask? Its ability to block one hundred percent all of the attack types for a turn certainly makes it a unique weapon, and you could perfectly need it just for that little turn, you know, when you’re almost dead at ~10/xxx HP and it leads you to victory. For 1 player, this weapon is perfect against the weaker challengers, even if it can be crucial for the stronger ones. Thyoras tear will remove any fear in you for a complete turn, where you will have the possibility to annihilate your opponent and take the win.

Illusen’s Staff (r101) – Rating 9.5

Illusens Staff

Illusen’s Staff is a prize that comes from Illusen, which is given at level 50 after completing all of her quests. This weapon has the ultimate ability to block all dark icons. Its icons are 13 earth, between 0,6 to 6 physical, -75% light, which means that 75% of these icons are reflected as dark, and finally a 20% maximum HP heal when your HP is lower than 20%. If you’re looking for a weapon that can be, at the same time, offensive and defensive, then this is the perfect one for you. Unfortunately, because it is only awarded after completion of the last level of Illusen’s quests, it is priced in the 200 million range. Illusen’s Staff multi-healer alone is just perfect, since if you’re battling weak opponent’s, it will be almost impossible for you to lose a battle, unless you leave of course.

Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield (r200) – Rating 9.5

Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield

Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield is a blocker that will block 5 earth icons, 5 air, 5 water, and 5 physical. This shield will also reflect 100% of light icons, which makes it the most powerful shield of all the Hidden Tower. The HNMS will give pressure to your opponent to make him use a fire or a dark weapon, to minimize the effect of this shield. Unfortunately, this shield is banned from L97 fights. If you don’t know what L97 is, please refer to Neopets L97 Battles. If you’re going after 1 players fights, though, this shield will be one of your perfect choices.

Parasol of Unfortunate Demise (r98) rating – 9.5

Parasol of Unfortunate Demise

The Parasol of Unfortunate Demise is the perfect shield for pets with a lower defense, and it will correspond to a very reasonable budjet. Having this full blocker in your set, you will be able to have a great advantage, because you will then be able to block a massive amount of water and earth icons. This shield is even better for lab rat pets. The only inconvenient for this shield is that its effect is diminished in league play, which means that Dr. Sloths Perosonal Body Armour is the upgrade to this weapon, which will require some more NP savings.

U-Bend of Great Justice – Rating 9.3

U-Bend of Great Justice

U-Bend of Great Justice will reflect between 80 to 100% of water icons and its price is in the millions range, which is a reasonable price for the effect it provides. Because of its ability to reflect that many icons, the U-Bend of Great Justice can be hard to find, but if it is in your BD set, you will cause eventually last-minute havoc, making your opponent in fear of battling you again. If your opponent has water-heavy weapons, then you can consider the battle to be already game over. Some of the strongest weapons such as Kepbeards Trident and Sword of Tawre are all weapons that can do nothing against the U-Bend of Great Justice, which is what makes this weapon truly unique.

Ultra Dual Shovel (r99) – Rating 9.3

Ultra Dual Shovel

The Ultra Dual Shovel will reflect a good amount of your opponent’s icons back to them, which consists of 75% earth damage. This reflector can be used against the more powerful weapons that can be present in the BD when you’re playing in single player mode, or even if it is a 2-player battle. It will resist the Attack Pea, Seasonal Attack Pea, Super Attack Pea, Grapes of Wrath, Illusen’s Staff, Sword of Thare and Ghostkerbomb, simply because of its ability to reflect 3/4 earth icons. Even if, for example, the SuAP has 2 massive elements, it will reduce the amount of damage that can be done to you by a lot, because the SuAP will only have 1/4 of its earth icons to get to you. For 17m NP, this weapon is relatively expensive. For a lower budget, you may try the Shovel Plus, which costs roughly 35k NP.

Moehog Skull (r101) – Rating 9.3

Moehog Skull

The Moehog Skull is the best freezer in all Neopia, and it is even one of the strongest weapons that exists in the game. Its ability to be a 100% freezer, to have attack icons AND to defend makes it surely a one-kind-weapon. You will be given a full power round when you are the next one to attack. The Moehog Skull can be won through all Haunted Woods scratchcards, accoring to TNT in the Neopian Times editorial, but know that it is very rare. The only reason this weapon doesn’t have a 10 is because of its price, which is between 300 and 400 million NP, and that is if you find one for sale. With 25 icons, the Moehog Skull is not comparable to other freezers, as it is just perfect. For a more common and less expensive 100% freezer, you can find the Sleep Ray which also has 4 defense icons. Alternatively, the Heavy Blue Tunic is also a good freezer which has 9 icons of defense.

Super Attack Pea (r101) – Rating 9.3

Super Attack Pea

The Super Attack Pea is actually the strongest weapon in Neopets, which can do a total of 32 constant icons ranking it above all other weapons. Its price, though, is unbelievably high because it was once a cove item, and it will never restock there anymore. Only about 300 are in circulation and if you’re looking to purchase one, you will need a pretty high budget to get rid off. This weapon is also the greatest when it comes to comparing it to other peas from the Attack Pea family. Having this in your set will surely increase you win rate and will fear your opponents. Not only that, but it will even give you a unique Avatar once attached to your Pea Chia, which is one of the more sought after Avatars in Neopets.

Leaded Elemental Vial (r99) Rating 9.3

Leaded Elemental Vial

The Leaded Elemental Vial is one of the cheapest full healing items that can be found on Neopets, costing in the 20 million NP range. This is actually the little brother of the Jade Scorchstone, but the only inconvenient is that you can get fooled when trying to equip this to your pet, as you can also let him drink it leading to a total loss of ~20 million NP. Otherwise, though, since the Leader Elemental Vial is a full heal potion, it is easily a must-to-have weapon in the BD.

Crisp Blue Tunic (r99) – Rating 9.3

Crisp Blue Tunic

The Defence of the Crisp Blue Tunic depends of the intelligence of your pet. Whenever your pet reaches the 750 intelligence and has the Crisp Blue Tunic successfully equipred with him, he will be able to drain as much as 100 HP from your opponent to heal himself. However, you will not be able to win this way, as both players must have 101 HP less than their maximum. Alternatively, there is the bag of healing dust that can get you 50% of your full HP, if your budget doesn’t let you purchase the Leaded Elemental Vial or the Jade Scorchstone, but also because the bag’s price is not much higher than the Crisp Blue Tunic, and will require no intelligence at all. The only advantage from the Crisp Blue Tunic is that you will be able to take off 100 HP from your opponent directly, without forgetting the fact that it will block 2 earth and 2 water icons.

Jade Elixir (r99) – Rating 9.3

Jade Elixir

This single use Jade Elixir is cheap enough when you really need it. Because it is very cheap, you will be able to purchase few of this items and keep them only for important battles. It does the same effect as the Jade Scorchstone, but it is one use only, which means that it will vanish when you use it. Of course, this item is not made for you to play against hundreds of challengers and use it, but more importantly for the few serious battles that you will have to do, for example, in a plot, to battle a friend, your worst enemy, etc, otherwise you would run out of NP. You can use the Jade Elixir the time while you save your NP for a Jade Scorchstone, which is crucial in a combat and essential.

Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy (r200) – Rating 9.3

Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy

Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy is a Hidden Tower weapon that is a good weapon to have in a set of equipment, simply because of its 14 icons. It is relatively cheap, which means in the 2 million range, unless you purchase it through the 10% HT discount day. Because of its icons, it is somewhat difficult to block and will result in a great 1 on 1 advantage, as you would have purchased the Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy for as low as 2m NP, and saved the rest to buy better equipment. If this weapon is in your BD set, it will surely increase your chance of winning.

Wand of the Dark Faerie (r130) – Rating 9.2

Wand of the Dark Faerie

The Wand of the Dark Faerie is a price that can be obtained from Jhudora’s Bluff after completing the last level, which is level 50. Since the quests you will be given by Jhudora will be very hard for the fact that you will have to bring various r99 items, thus making many people actually fail before reaching level 40, the Wand of the Dark Faerie price is roughly at 140 million NP. It is also more expensive than the Illusen’s Staff because Jhudoras quests are actually harder, and because this wand is much more stronger. The Wand of the Dark Faerie has an average of 25 icons, a 75% light reflect and a 25% healing of your max HP whenever you have less than 25% max HP. Think: you have a multi use unlimited healing with 25 icons. How can one possibly lose with this item? It is just impossible, unless you die in front of your computer during the bloody battle.

Ghostkerbomb (r200) – Rating 10

Ghostkerbomb

Actually, I give the Ghostkerbomb a 10 because of its uniqueness. Its ability to knock off your enemy by doing 10 earth icons, 10 fire icons and from 1 to 10 physical icons surely makes this weapon unbeatable and even stronger than the pricey Maractite Bomb. Unfortunately, it is a once per battle use, but it will surely do a lot of damage when you will throw it at your opponent. It is a HT weapon and will cost you 7 million NP, but it is certainly worth the price. Its average icons are 25 make this weapon at the head of the BD. The only weapon(s) that can do more damage are the Super Attack Pea and the Seasonal Attack Pea, which grant the Ghostkerbomb the third most powerful BD weapon available to players.

Sword of Reif (r200) – Rating 9.2

Sword of Reif

Sword of Reif is a good weapon for those who are looking for a massive fire battle, and it is one of the most difficult weapons to block when it is being used against. The reason behind that is because the cheaper items that can reduce its damage are currently only the Clawed Shield along with the A Shovel. Because of its capacity to be very hard to block, it is ranked as one of the best swords in the game.

Rod of Dark Nova (r180) – Rating 9.2

Rod of Dark Nova

Rod of Dark Nova can be considered like a full shield against two of the stronger icons, which are dark and fire. Not only it will block all of them, but it will also add two dark icons and 2 fire icons damage to your opponent. Also, it will heal your pet by 6 – 60 HP, which can be used to your advantage. This is also very good against the Sword of Reif, which is a pure fire and physical weapon. Unfortunately, this weapon has a rating of 9 for the only reason that it is retired, meaning that it will be priced in the 200 million NP range. Even if you had that much NP, you would rather spend it on other weapons instead of a two elements blocking rod.

Lucky Robots Foot (r120) – Rating 9.0

Lucky Robots Foot

Being a 100% healer, the Lucky Robots Foot is certainly a great weapon to have. The worst that can happen to prevent you from actually using this weapon is it being stolen from you, for example, by the Heavy Robe of Thievery. Also, just like the Jade Elixir, this weapon is a single use only, which means that you should only be using it for important battles. Battling one of your friends, worst enemy or battling in a plot are all examples where this item can be used. Of course, you will not be able to buy thousands of this item to battle against thousands of opponents, because you would then run out of NP. If your budget lets you, the Jade Scorchstone or its brother the Leaded Elemental Vial would be what you need. It is recommended that before you purchase the Lucky Robots Foot, you check the Jade Elixir’s price to know which of both is the cheapest, so that you can save NP since they have the same effect on you, meaning a full heal.

Kacheek Life Potion (r92) – Rating 9.0

Kacheek Life Potion

The Kacheek Life Potion will heal 33% of your maximum HP when your maximum HP is at 33% or less, and will fully heal your pet when it is above 33% of its max HP. Better than the Bag of Healing Dust which only heals 50% of your max HP, the Kacheek Life Potion will match perfectly your budget if you can’t afford the Leaded Elemental Vial or the Jade Scorchstone, which both are full healers. However, this weapon can not be considered as a full healer, because you will need more than 33% of your HP to actually get there, which means that this weapon is a 66% healer. It is recommended to use the Kacheek Life Potion when your HP is below the 40% mark, as you can not know your next opponent’s move. Because of its price, this weapon will suit perfectly your needs, and can be also used the time you get yourself a full healer. Then, you will be able to resell it without a problem and earn extra NP.

Entangling Lenny Lasso (r97) – Rating 9.0

Entangling Lenny Lasso

A perfect 100% freezer than can be used once per battle, the Entangling Lenny Lasso which does the same effect as the Lenny Ray Gun of Freezing. The advantage of this weapon, is that it has a way more reasonable price, giving it a pretty good reputation also because of its ability to be obtainable by the new BD starters.

Thick Smoke Bomb (r101) – Rating 9.0

Thick Smoke Bomb

Have you ever dreamed of having the Thyoras Tear but had insufficient NP to purchase it? No problem, the Thick Smoke Bomb offers you a chance to respond to your needs by having totally the same effect. The only thing that you will have to note is that it will be a one use only item. It costs approximately 10k NP, though, which is really affordable. If you’re saving up for the Thyoras Tear, you can purchase few Thick Smoke Bombs in the meantime. However, only use them when you are actually in need of a 100% all-icon blocker, because you do not want to waste 10k NP over nothing. For that reason, bring one with you when you know you’re battling a serious opponent, or against a challenger that you absolutely want to beat. Otherwise, keep it in your SDB to avoid losing 10k NP over and over.

Faerie Tabard (r200) – Rating 9.0

Faerie Tabard

The Faerie Tabard is obtainable from the hidden tower at 7.5M NP, which is very reasonable for a 100% water block and a total of 16 icons. You should certainly go after this weapon, especially if you can not afford the U-Bend of Great Justice, which is very highly priced. If you are battle against an opponent that has the water at his top of his strategies, the Faerie Tabard will surely make you comfortable and raise the doubt in him, giving you a better chance to take the battle.

Bag of Healing Dust (r99) – Rating 9.0

Bag of Healing Dust

The Bag of Healing Dust’s ability to heal 50% of your max HP at half of a normal full healer price can certainly make the difference between a win or a loss. If you mostly play against 1 player opponents and have absolutely no interest in the 2 player challenges, then the Bag of Healing Dust will surely increase your win-rate, giving you a better overall ranking and a greater self-esteem.

Ylanas Blaster (r101) – Rating 9.0

Ylanas Blaster

As a event prize, the Ylanas Blaster, doing a little more than 12.5 icons will surely make a battle more interesting in 1 player mode. As for the 2 player battles, it is not really recommended simply because it can be easily blocked by the Sophies Magic Hat, by Solar Flare Shield, Wanderers Cloak, and mostly by the Scarab Ring. For this reason, it is more a 1 player battle, because your opponents are the computer and don’t have a brain to “establish a strategy”. For 1 million NP, you can surely have fun with the Ylanas Blaster, the time you save up your NP for a better weapon. If you’re not into 2 player Battles, then you should just keep it permanently.

Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting (r101) – Rating 9.0

Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting

If you’re after the unlucky event prizes, the Brynns Legendary Sword of Wraith Smiting can be perfectly one of them with a total icons of 13. However, it is not as unlucky as you may think. This sword has been known to smash opponents through the last minute and give the opportunity to the “about-to-lose” fighter to win. For 1 million NP, not only you will have a legendary sword, but you will also be able to take down some of the most hatred opponents you will face. Make sure that you don’t come across a Rusty Pitchfork or a Deadly Pugio, though, because your legendary sword will turn into a piece of useless metal then.

Flask of Liquid Fire (r94) – Rating 9.0

Flask of Liquid Fire

Being able to do between 6 and 10 fire icons along with some extra 2 to 4 light damage for only 300 NP, the Flask of Liquid Fire is the must-to-have weapon for new players who have recently joined the game. The Flask of Liquid Fire will dramatically give you a power boost until you get yourself better weapons, and it will also make you win against many of the 1-player challengers until then. Not only that, but it is also a multi-use item so you can consider this item as a “free weapon”, in other words. The only thing you will have to consider, is to boost up your pet’s intelligence to 30 before using the Flask of Liquid Fire, otherwise it will be useless. A wide range of 1 NP books are offered to you, which can boost your pet’s intelligence in almost no time for as low as 100 NP total.

To pay, as you already know, you will have to bring codestones. This time, Codestones will be quite different and they are not the ones you know. Red Codestones will be required to pay for a course. To obtain Red Codestones, you will have to battle against several challengers in the Battledome, but it can be long until you get one. For that reason, you may want to search through the Shop Wizard to purchase them directly, but they are more pricey and will be located in the 20,000 NP and above range. If you’re lucky, you can also get them from random events. A total of 6 Red Codestones exist in Neopets. Below is a list that will show you their names.

http://images.neopets.com/dome/pages/abilities_header.jpg

What you should know

Neopets Faerie Abilities are a replacement of the old Faerie Bottles which were used in the Battledome. Weak Bottled Faeries will give you from one to two points of their element. The elements that can be found are Light, Fire, Dark, Air, Water and Earth. You will be able to give various Faerie Bottles to your pet(s) to get them ready for battles. Depending on the level of your pet, you will be given three abilities to choose from, for each section of level. If you purchase an ability (with the faerie tokens) then change your mind later, it will be possible, but it will cost you half the tokens you would have spend for the current level.

When you’re in a battle, you will be presented with another box that is located near your weapons. Click on it to see your abilities and decide whether or not you would want to use them in that specific turn. The higher the level of your pet, the more Abilities the box will contain. Depending on the particular ability, they can be multiple use or a one use only. Most of the higher abilities will be so strong that they will be only available once per battle or even once per day.

Finally, you can purchase Weak Faerie Bottles through the Shop Wizard at some pretty reasonable prices, or receive them as a reward after battling some BD challengers.

Neopets Stat Increasers

$
0
0

Neopets Stat Increasers are a really important part of the game simply because the stats of your Neopets will not be always the way you want, simply because every course will take time. Neopets Stat Increasers are mostly for wealthier Neopian players that are looking for spend more money to avoid the time waste when it comes to completing courses. They will want to invest that many NP because for the higher levels, training gets really long and it is preferable for some people to boost up their pets stats by few points simply by purchasing items that will be for their advantage, minimizing courses trainings.

Neopets Neggs

Neopets Neggs are a type of stat increaser that can boost up your pet’s stat(s) upon feeding it to them. It is preferably to have a pet that is dying of hunger, simply because he will be able to do eat much more neggs than one who is already bloated or almost, since hunger will decrease by levels for every hour that passes. You will have to remember is the amount of effectiveness that will be provided by the items. For example, the Snegg is a very popular negg that you can find in the TP for approximately 100k NP. The Snegg will grant your active pet a total of 2 to 3 health points, and a total of 2 to 3 agility points (mouvement). You may be thinking that Sneggs are actually expensive, but think again. They can really be used for your advantage. A single Snegg will grant you atleast 2 HP and 2 movement points. If your pet is level 240, then you would have to actually spend NP to purchase 7 Codestones, which can be really pricey at the 60k NP range and last for 24 hours per point. For that reason, not only the Snegg will save you NP, but it will also faster the process.

If you feed, for example, the Snegg the maximum amount of times in a day, considering the fact that your pet’s hunger will vary through level for each hour that passes, and that you respect the time to be as quick as possible, you will be able to get between 48 and 72 HP a day, which is a lot, in the contrary of training who would have given you only a total of 1 point per day for a lot of NP. Of course, you will not only be able to purchase Sneggs as many variety of neggs are offered to you which will boost different stats. For example, there is the Armoured Negg that grants your pet a total of 1 defense along with a Battledome item (defensive one) that will also save you a lot of time. If you are able to feed your pet with Armoured Neggs for every hour, then you can get 24 defence points a day, at the cost of approximately 1.5m NP. Again, this may only be good once you have the NP.

Below is a list of Neggs that will alter different stats of your pet(s), along with the amount of Negg Tokens they will cost. You can refer to this guide if you’re looking to increase a particular stat of your pet, since not all Neggs will have the same effects and some of them will be for your disadvantage. It is recommended to make sure you’re not going after any Negg, since some of them will even alter the color of your pet. In this guide, various Neggs will be explained precisely, along with whether they are recommended to purchase or not.

Happy Negg. This first negg will be priced at 4 Negg Tokens and it will, in a short summary, increase the happiness of your pet(s). This Negg is not really recommended to have, as you can easily purchase a toy at the Neopian shop wizards for as low as 1 NP, or get them for free through random events, then play with your pet to increase its happiness to its max. Since happiness is not really an important factor for the Battledome, you may want to save your NP for something else.

Happy Negg

Swift Darkfire Negg Bomb. This Negg, at the cost of 4 Negg Tokens, will give you the possibility to do a total of 5 air, dark, and fire icons during the Battledome and this Negg is a one use time only. Since this Negg is more like a weapon than a stat increaser, you may want to forget it if you have a strict and limited budget to purchase stat neggs with.

Swift Darkfire Negg Bomb

Darksplash Negg Bomb. At the cost of 4 Negg Tokens, the Darksplash Negg Bomb will also do damage during the Battledome, just like the Swift Darkfire Negg Bomb, but with different icons. This one will do a total of 5 dark, physical and water icons and can also be used only once. Again, because it will not give you stats, you may want to forget it at the moment if you currently have a limited budget.

Darksplash Negg Bomb

Glamour Negg. For 7 Negg Tokens, this Negg will increase your pet’s happiness and will also give you a prize reward which can be a Gold Brush, Mirror, or a Shampoo that are all grooming items (for the mood of your pet). The intelligence of your pet will also decrease by 1. This is not recommended as not only it is not a Battledome stats increaser, but it will also remove intelligence from your pet which is fundamental if you are training his agility, to steal weapons from your opponents during the advanced battles.

Glamour Negg

Smiley Negg. For 9 Negg Tokens, just like the Happy Negg, this will increase the happiness of your pet. For previously mentioned reasons, you may want to leave this one where it is and save your NP for better Neggs.

Smiley Negg

Negg of Purity +1. Because they are priced at 10 Negg Tokens, and are relatively cheap, the Neggs of Purity +1 are recommended if you like taking gambles, because they can increase the defence of your current pet by 1. Since they will not be able to hurt your pet or do something to it in the negative way, you will want to purchase a good amount of those if you have the NP and if you’re looking for defence points. Not a fan of gambles? Nothing to worry about, some of the Neggs that will be presented later will be also able to provide defence points without going through gambles.

Negg of Purity +1

Wicked Negg. For 10 Negg Tokens, you will waste your NP as this Negg is just a food that does absolutely nothing. You can find a variety of food types, on the site, that are obtainable for free and that can be bought from shops at 1 NP. For this reason, you may want to keep your NP for effective Neggs. Also, who would want of a Wicked Negg?

Wicked Negg

Pumpkin Negg. Actually, it doesn’t have to be Halloween to purchase / feed your pet with this. At the price of 12 Negg Tokens, this will increase the pet’s weight and decrease your pet’s height by respectively 1 to 2 lbs and 1 to 2 cm. Of course, in real life weight will really matter to determine whether or not a fighter is resistant. For pets, defence points are really what you should worry about and not the rest. Since this Negg will not provide significant Battledome stats, you may want to find something else to hunt.

Pumpkin Negg

Blue Furry Negg. For 15 Negg Tokens, the Blue Furry Negg will heal your pet with 5 hit points when it is outside of the Battledome, meaning that if it is currently not in a Battle. Why would you want to spend your NP for 5 HP when you can go to the Healing Springs located in Faerieland and receive, there, free healings? Pass on that.

Blue Furry Negg

Armoured Negg. Priced at 16 Negg Tokens, these will increase the defence of your pet by 1 point, and it will also give you a shield for you to use. The shields can be an Omelette Shield, Shoulder Armour, Nurias Battle Shield or Scamander Shield. Since this Negg is a buyable item, if you’re going after some serious defence healing for your high leveled pets, you may want to consider purchasing it.

Armoured Negg

Sweet Heath Negg. Costing 18 Negg Tokens, the Sweet Heart Negg will award you with an ice cream or candy item that is completely random. It is currently useless for the Battledome.

Sweet Heart Negg

Crystal Negg. Their price is 22 Negg Tokens. These will, once fed, heal your pet with a total of 8 hit points when you are currently not battling, meaning outside of the Battledome. Again, you can visit the Healing Springs in Faerieland if you’re looking after some serious HP heals.

Crystal Negg

Ghost Negg. This particular Negg will do nothing to your Neopets and is just a food that can be eaten in a regular basis. You may want to pass on this.

Ghost Negg

Genius Negg. At the price of 24 Negg Tokens, not only they will increase your pet’s intelligence by 1 to 3 points, but you will receive a Book for simply feeding it to your pet. Because it is expensive for few intelligence points, this is not really needed to earn BD stats.

Genius Negg

Vortex Negg. The Vortex Negg is more like a gamble, for 24 Negg Tokens, that gives you the chance to increase or decrease by 1 point the maximum health points your pet currently has. IMPORTANT: This item can also turn your pet into a blue, green, red or yellow basic color. Avoid it at all cost, unless you really don’t mind about the color of your pet and can paint him/her later.

Vortex Negg

Christmas Tree Negg. At the price of 27 Negg Tokens, this Negg will heal you with 20 HP. Again, visit the Healing Springs if you are looking for healings.

Christmas Tree Negg

Staring Negg. For 30 Negg Tokens, the Staring Negg will decrease the intelligence of your pet by 10 points. Unless you’re doing a competition to reach the pet with the less intelligence possible, you may want to forget about this Negg.

Staring Negg

Bang Bang Negg. This one will give you a snowball that is very random. 33 Negg Tokens.

Bang Bang Negg

Fireball Negg. This is more like a weapon. It will do a maximum amount of damage, during a battle, of four fire icons. This is not really useful to boost BD stats.

Fireball Negg

Icestorm Negg. This Negg will do 1 physical icon during the Battledome. Not a stat booster.

Icestorm Negg

Spinning Negg. This particular Negg, who costs 36 Negg Tokens used to give your pet the Air Shield Faerie ability. However, this will not do anything currently.

Spinning Negg

Basic Power Negg. At the price of 39 Negg Tokens, this Negg will increase the defence of your pet by 1 point. Since this is more expensive than the Armoured Negg, which does the same effect, and will not grant you a shield, this is not really recommended as you can waste a good amount of NP on it.

Basic Power Negg

Evil Negg. This is a weapon that will do 3 dark icons, along with 1 physical during a Battle at the cost of 42 Negg Tokens. Not required to boost stats.

Evil Negg

Witchy Negg. A really gambling Negg. For 48 Negg Tokens, this will give you a chance to change the gender of your pet, to raise their intelligence, HP, cure them, or transform them to a Lenny, Moehog or Tuskaninny. Chances that you actually receive HP are very slim, and you will most likely turn your pet into a specie that you don’t want. For that reason, don’t waste your NP on this.

Witchy Negg

Kaleideonegg. At 52 Negg Tokens, this will change the color of your pet to the four basic ones, and there is a chance to increase the number of HP or level of your pet by 1. Again, this is a gamble for a high amount of NP, which is not recommended for obvious reasons.

Kaleideonegg

Faerie Queen Neeg. One of the most sought after Neggs, at the cost of 57 Negg Tokens, you will find this for a hundred of NP or less if you buy them in bulk. This will increase the maximum amount of HP of the fed pet by 1. Very useful for higher end pets and this is really a good choice to put your NP on.

Faerie Queen Negg

Rainwater Negg. This Negg used to give your pet a Steam Shield Faerie Ability, but it has currently stopped to do anything at all because of the new BD. Not something to look after.

Rainwater Negg

Confusionegg. Used, for 64 Negg Tokens, to give your pet a Psychic Blast Faerie Ability and does nothing at this time.

Confusionegg

Radioactive Negg. Used, for 66 Negg Tokens, to give a random Faerie Ability, which doesn’t anymore at this time.

Radioactive Negg

Silver Knight Negg. For 72 Negg Tokens, this will increase the defence of your pet by 1 to 2. Think again: why would you want to pay much more NP to purchase a Negg that gives 1-2 defence points, when you can simply buy two Armoured Neggs for way cheaper? Not recommended.

Silver Knight Negg

Power Negg. Strength can be expensive to train up. The Power Negg, at 79 Negg Tokens, gives you the possibility to raise it. A good choice to look forward after training up defence points.

Power Negg

Cracked Negg. For 90 Negg Tokens, this will Heal your pet with 3 HP, take them out, or will inflict 3 light and dark icons. This is more like a weapon, which is not recommended in this case.

Cracked Negg

Crackling Negg. Does Nothing.

Cackling Negg

Plaid Negg. Can change the colour of your pet. Avoid it at all cost.

Plaid Negg

Ferocious Negg. At 124 Negg Tokens, this will ad 1 to 3 strength points to your pet, along with a random disease. Since the disease is easily curable, and that not many Neggs will provide STR points, this is good to go after if you have the NP.

Ferocious Negg

Snegg. Use this Negg if you would like to go through the old increasing way. This Negg will not only increase your HP by 2-3 points, but will also increase your Agility by 2-3 points, and therefore it is one of the most recommended Neggs to seek.

Snegg

Spiked Negg. At 195 Negg Tokens, this will give you 1-3 HP. For the price, you should really go after the Snegg, as it will give you a better advantage (because of agility) and will cost you generally cheaper.

Spiked Negg

Super Negg. Expensive Negg at the price of 210 Negg Tokens. This will increase the intelligence of your pet by 1, HP by 1-3 and agility by 1 to 3 points. Not worth the price, you should really look forward Sneggs, Armoured Neggs and Ferocious Neggs.

Super Negg

Cool Negg. This Negg will increase the level of your pet by 1 to 2 HP, 1 to 3 agility, and 1 to 3 strength points. 247 Negg Tokens is really expensive too. The effect is perfect if you can afford the price.

Cool Negg

Other Stat Increasers

Alternatively, you can use various potion, for example, like the Altador Strength Potion which will grant your pet a total of 5 strength points. The potions are usually more expensive and it will not be required to pay attention the hunger of your pet. Other than that, there is the Bubbling Fungus that will give you the chance of adding up to 5 strength points to your pet, or losing a maximum of 3 points. Even if this is a gamble, you have good chances to increase your pet’s stats with this item.

Mushroom Stat Increasers

There used to be a time when you could purchase various Mystal Mushrooms through shops in order to train up your pets and get some serious benefits: they used to be so cheap that many people were able to afford them. The Apothecary is where they used to restock, and they gave a random effect to your pet. Even if they currently not restock anymore for the fact that they are now retired, you are always able to purchase the Mushrooms from other Neopians through the Shop Wizard, Trading Post and you can even get them through Auctions. Since they are retired, they increased in their particular rarity and price every day, at a point where you will have a hard to time to purchase them.

Below is a like of the Mystic Mushrooms along with their effects, which will give you a better idea about what you should go for, and what not to seek after. Note that you will also need a good amount of NP to purchase these, making it harder for average Neopian to get them.

Blue Healthshroom. This mushroom, as its name says, will heal your pet by healing it with a total of 1 maximum hit point. Since there are many healing potions at low prices, or even the Faerie Springs in Faerieland that is completely free, purchasing the Blue Healthshroom to heal your pet will be plain ridiculous, unless you would like to collect it, of course.

Blue Healthshroom

Green Healthroom. This mushroom also heals your pet, but this time, with a maxium of 11 hit points instead of 1, which is an additional 10 HP. Again, it would be a waste of NP to seek this particular item, thus it is preferable to directly go after the Healing Springs or after a cheaper Healing Potion. Unless you are a collector, you do not want to spend a large amount of NP on something you can get for free.

Green Healthshroom

Green Toadstool. The Green Toadstool will heal your pet with a total of 3 HP. Again, just like the two mushrooms seen before, these mushrooms are retired and will in fact require you to spend a big amount of NP to get them. For that reason, you do not want to purchase these. Even if you’re one of the wealthiest Neopians, why would you want to purchase something that is expensive to use, where you could purchase something that is way more cheaper? For that reason, it is not recommended, also because it will not add BD stats to your pet.

Green Toadstool

Level Up Shroom. This mushroom will raise the level of your pet by 1 point, which is considerable. Since the amount of Neggs that will grant 1 level are limited, it is recommended that you purchase the Level Up Shroom when you have the NP.

Level Up Shroom

Mega Power Plusshroom. This mushroom will give your pet an additional point, which can be added to his strength, level or HP. For this reason, the Mega Power Plusshroom is something recommended to look after, but you will mostly not find these anymore, or if you do, they would be worth hundreds of thousands, or even millions of NP. Only recommended for wealthy Neopians.

Mega Power Plusshroom

Poisonous Mushroom. The Poisonous Mushroom will give your pet a disease, which is Neopox. Who on his right mind would want to give a disease to his pet? Not only that, but to spend to spend a large amount of NP to do so? This mushroom is not recommended at all.

Poisonous Mushroom

Purple Spotted Shroom. That particular Shroom will give you the chance to heal your pet by 3 HP, which is useless, receive 1 HP and 1 STR point. Note that the Purple Spotted Shroom is so rare that you will most likely not find it through the TP, which is why you should stick with Neggs (refer to the guide at the top) if you’re looking forward training HP or STR points.

Purple Spotted Shroom

Strength Shroom. This mushroom will give you from 1 to 3 strength points. Again, it is recommended only if you have the NP. 1-3 STR points is very good, but considering the fact that it will cost you a lot just to find one of them, you would be better going after Altador Strength Potion or even taking a gamble with the Bubbling Fungus.

Strength Shroom

Super Fast Shroom. This mushroom will give an additional 1 agility point to your pet. Literally, you can purchase a Snegg which will cost you probably even less, and will not only raise the agility of your pet by 2-3 points, but also its HP by 2-3 points. In this case, Sneggs would be really the way to go.

Super Fast Shroom

Yellow Healthshroom. This particular mushroom will heal your pet by 15 HP and will cure your pet from any disease. It would be better to go and heal your pet through the Healing Springs (in Faerieland) and see if you are lucky enough to get him/her cured. You will spend a lot of NP on a “curing item” when cures will cost much less NP, even the pricier ones.

Yellow Healthshroom

Finally, there are many ways to increase the stat of your pet(s) without having to go through a long training, and this is perfectly recommended if you have the NP.

Neopets Fyora League

Neopets Fyora League is a league that was recently created by the creator of L97, and it is, as its name says, a league that will take place into the Battledome. Neopets Fyora league will also be based mostly on the Hidden Tower weapons.

Basic Information

Neopets Fyora League is for the hard-hitters, meaning that it will be based mostly on mid-level Hidden Tower that are mid-leveled. These weapons will have some value in the league. The length of the battle is decided after a calculation of the number of turns it will take to to defeat your opponent by using an anagram-level that averages a total of 18 icons. For new Battledomers, it is recommended that you stick, for a while, with the L97, simply because your budget will be more limited and that this Fyora League will require some of the best Hidden Tower weapons that are available in the game. After that, once you become successfully comfortable with the game and the Battledome, you can start saving NP to purchase some of the higher end weapons to be a participant into the Fyora League.

http://images.neopets.com/caption/caption_426.gif

Stats of your Neopet

In Neopets Fyora League, you will want to build up to 300 hit points, 20 STR and 35 DEF points. These stats are like the L97 ones, but note that the only factor that changes is the HP, which are increased by a total of 203 points. You will have to get these stats if you’re looking to participate, simply because the league gives a lot more importance to the weapons used during the game, and the strategy owned by the player, than the actual stats of the pets which can be unfair. During this league, battles will take much more time than L97 battles, but it does actually really depend of your training speed. Because everyone will need a unique build that was described above, it will take sometime to train there. The other stats build will be a 3500 HP, 750 STR and 750 DEF, which is the only other one available, currently, for the Fyora League.

Battle Length

Battles Lengths will bring back the stances. Actually, there is no information regarding the length that a battle will take simply because everyone will come up with a unique strategy, and everyone will be using their personal weapons, which makes it actually impossible. When the Battledome will actually change the stances, the amount of time for each Battle will then, become determinable.

Battles will vary a lot. Sometimes both of the players will go offensive, which can last up to 12 turns, and some other times it will take longer, for example, if they decide to go defensive. Defensive battles can usually take two times longer, meaning approximately 25 turns based on the players, and these turns means a 1 hour match. Though, note that matches will usually not last more than 15 minutes, as what was described above is an extreme situation. Again, the stances will have to be reintroduced into the Battledome in order to choose the perfect timings, but until then, the battles lengths will remain undetermined, simply because each player has his own style of play.

Rules

This part is the most important one simply because the League relies on these rules. Note that freezers, during the Fyora League, will be allowed unless both of the two players have decided not to use them. If only one of them agrees, though, and the other player doesn’t, then he is free to use a freezer.

The next rules is that a variety of multi-healers are banned. The banned weapons are Wand of the Dark Faerie, Rod of Dark Nova, Illusens Staff, and the Everlasting Crystal Apple. These weapons are banned simply because you can get too much luck, and get multiple heals when you’re at 30 hp, etc. Since the Wand of the Dark Faerie and the Illusens Staff do not have counter weapons, they will remain banned until then. Alos, the Wand of the Dark Faerie would have to heal a maximum of 60 hit points when the HP of your pet are currently at 60 or less. Because of that, the WoDF is overpowered and will be banned at this time.

Another rule will ban two more weapons from the league simply because they will also have no counter weapons, and they are the Grapes of Wrath and the Super Attack Pea. They will remain banned until counter weapons get released. Currently, these weapons are rated as overpowered, and this is the main reason why they are banned for the league. There has to be some sort of way to be able to encounter a weapon. Any weapon. If there’s a weapon that can not be encountered, then it is just too overpowered and unfair to battle against. All the weapons that will be available during the league will be able to be encountered. For that specific reason, the GoW and SuAP will remain banned unless a new weapon that can “stand” against them is released.

The last rule is that to prevent the battles to take too much time, the anagram clones will get banned out of the league. That means, the Sword of Reif, Sword of Air, Sword of Thigl, Sword of Thare, and the Sword of Tawre are all banned. What is not banned, however, is the Sword of Skardsen. Because the restriction of these weapons, battlers will be able to predict more the weapon that will be used against them, and this rule also makes all of the Hidden Tower with their own “good and bad” advantages.

Hidden Tower Constants

Many Hidden Tower level constants will be common in the Fyora League, like the Sword of Skardsen, the Pirate Captains Cutlass, the Skarl Hasty Mace, and the Kelpbeards Trident. The last mentioned weapon is a solid constant. However, it will get easily blocked, for example, with the Faerie Tabard, by the Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield or even by the Fan of Swords. The Sword of Skardsen have the advantage that all its icons are past the Hubrids Nox Memorial Shield. However, that swords disadvantages is that it is weak against, for example, the Ring of the Lost, the Hanso Charisma Charm and against the Ghostkershield.

The Glittery Faerie Dust is a special weapon, since it doesn’t give the opponent the ability to predict it, thus being able to block it. However, you will be wasting a little of your offense and for that reason, this weapon can still be in the league.

Healing Items

Healers such as the Crisp Blue Tunic and the Leaded Elemental Vial have a great importance during battles. The Fyora League total, and starting HP will be 300, which means that both of these healers previously mentioned will be equal. For that reason, both of them will be allowed and are highly recommended.

Finally, the Fyora League is a Battledome league where players, that will have to match certain stats to be able to participate, can enjoy battling against opponents of the same pet level, meaning that the battle itself will be mostly based on weapons and strategies.

Neopets League 54

Neopets League 54 is a Battledome league that will give you the opportunity to train the cheap way, and where many of the best weapons will be bought from the Shop Wizard. Neopets League 54 will not only give you the opportunity to train up the inexpensive way, but will also give you a chance to win with equipment that cost as low as 4 million NP (just like how the winner of the first L54 league has won).

http://images.neopets.com/battledome/opponent_pics/197_ae56e49c4f.gif

Information

The L54 is the one that will decide whenever a league will be scheduled. There is no absolute fixed dates, and you will have to check its status from time to time, if you are looking to participate in it.

Rules

The rules is what can maintain the league the way it is. For that reason, below you will find a list that will explain briefly what you will have to do in order to participate, and what will not be tolerated/allowed. Note that to participate you must have your HP at 54, your Strength Points between 13 and 19, and your defence points between 35 and 54.

Rule #1: You will not be allowed to have weapons that will do more than 10.0 attack icons. 10.0 is the maximum and everything that can do higher icons than 10.0 is banned from the L54 tournaments.

Rule#2: You will not be allowed to have dual-duties that will do more than 13.0 attack icons. 13.0 is the maximum and everything that can do higher icons than 13.0 is banned from the L54 tournaments.

Rule #3: The full blockers, which means the items that will block 100% of a single icon, and with an attack of more than 5.0 icons will not be allowed during the L54 tournament. Some examples of these restricted weapons are: Hanso Charisma Charm, and Skarls Amulet.

Rule #4: You will not be able to use healers that will heal you with more than 60 HP, and more than 50 HP if overhealed. The Leaded Elemental Vial is allowed simply because it will refill your starting HP, meaning 54 on 54. However, the Short Sleeved Yellow Tunic will be banned from the tournament because it will heal 75 HP, and it is more than 60 HP. For that reason, you will have to respect these limits.

Rule #5: Few shields are banned from the tournament and they are those that will attack their opponent. All other shields will be allowed.

Rule #6: All reflectors are allowed unless these reflectors will not match other rules. The Dark Faerie Collar, even if it is a reflector, breaks other rules and therefore it is not allowed.

Rule #7: The only Faerie Abilities that are allowed, can be of level 1, 5 and 10, nothing else.

Rule #8: You will not be able to use HP drainers like the Battle Plunger, the Glowing Cauldron and the Cursed Elixir.

Rule #9: Stealers will not be allowed. Multihealers and Freezers will also not be allowed.

Rule #10: Only few single-use items will be allowed, and they are the Jade Elixir, the Life Giver, the Lucky Robots Foot and the Amulet of Life. All the other single use items are not allowed, meaning they are banned.

Rule #11: Few once-per-battle items will not be allowed like. These weapons are the Caustic Potion and Mud Mixture. All other items that are once-per-battle are allowed.

Rule #12: You will not be able to use boons that were awarded during the Obelisk Battleground during the L54 league, if they affect the gameplay.

Rule #13: You will have to provide a cure for your opponent, by purchasing it yourself for him, if you decide to give him a disease during a battle.

Rule #14: This rule have listed all the weapons that are not allowed and banned from the L54 league. These weapons are: Thyoras Tear, Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield, Caustic Potion, Mud Mixture, Scroll of Three Curses, Ghostkershield, Faerie Tabard, Dr. Sloths Personal Body Armour, and the Castle Defenders Shield.

Rule #15: This rule have listed all the weapons that are exceptions, thus can be used during the L54 league. These weapons break one or more of the previous rules, but will be allowed to use during the tournaments of L54. These weapons are: Twisted Dark Dagger, Deadly Pugio, Devious Top Hat and Cane, and Fighting Folder.

L54 Required Build

If you’re looking to participate in the L54 tournaments, you must have a pet that has its HP of 54, 13 STR and 35 DEF. For the STR, since a pet with 13 points can do the same damage as a pet with 19 points, if you have points that are no more, no less than these, then you will be fine. Same thing for defense, which will require you to get between 35 and 54 points.

Few Strategies

When battling an opponent, you will have to consider a few aspects that will determine if a battle is good or not. For the first aspect, choose a good set of equipment, because otherwise you will not stand a chance against your enemies. You may be asking what a good set is. Bear in mind that you have no information regarding your opponent (whether he has a good set or not, if he has a strategy and if he is prepared). Some of the most common combos that were recorded being used in the L54 can be took into consideration so that one can purchase equipment to be prepared against these. Try to keep an eye about the most used combos too, so that you will know how to defend yourself, etc.

Another thing to note is that you should focus on the advantage you can get. You will not be able to know the precision of your opponent, and for that reason you will not know what to do at first. However, the idea that you should keep in mind is that it is best to deal the higher amount of icons to your opponent for each single turn. Since both pets will have the exact same stats, that way, you will be in the lead.

Try to get a good healing turn, when it is for you to play and to choose if your pet is going to win, or if he is going to draw. You should decide that when the battle comes near its end. For example, if you think that it is a no-win on your side, and that you will have to make a draw. At that time, never worry about your HP and attack your opponent massively, so that you can try to get him at 0 HP, while you become at 0 HP too. However, if you think that the battle is favorable for you, simply defend yourself and attack your opponent. However, it will be harder to win than to draw but keep in mind that if you’re going for a draw, then your opponent is surely going after a win. If you’re going after a win, then your opponent is surely going after a draw.

During a battle, always pay attention to the weapons and to the abilities he will use against you. If your opponent uses all of his weapons, then boom, you know his complete set and you can start playing in your favor.

Some Answers

The frequently asked questions concerning the L54 will be described below.

During an L54 tournament, what should I have in my set?
It is considered that you have a healer and 7 different items that will do a total of 10 icons, good shields and dual-duties. L54 will require your to have a good defense when you start going offensive, for that reason you should consider having various types of equipment and not just pure attack, or pure defense.

What is the amount of time a L54 battle will take?
It does really depend about who is battling who and the amount of lag that can be found in the battle, if there is any. Usually, if the game lags a lot and the players decide to go offensive, the fight can take up from 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, if it is running smoothly and players are playing regularly, then the battle may take from 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Again, it all depends of the players and of the equipment they’ve brought with them to fight.

What is the number of turns that are usually found in a L54 battle?

The number of turns is based if the battlers are going defensive or offensive. If there is a lot of defense, then the battle can go up to 15-18 turns, which is very high. However, they will usually last for about 10 turns for them to complete.

I’m looking for the best healer. Recommendations?

You should note that it all depends of your strategy. However, the Purple Scorchstone is the best healer for the L54 tournament, because of its ability to overheal. It is a bit pricey, though, so if you don’t have the NP to purchase it, then you should go after other types of healers.

My Budget is limited. How much should I start with?

As low as 500k NP can get you a good start.

NP to get a good BD set?

At least 5 million NP. With that amount, you will also be able to purchase the Purple Scorchstone to have it in your set of equipment.

But there are people that spend 50M + on L54

Of course, there are. However, the L54 doesn’t actually require that you put all these NP and Drazu, the user who has won the first L54 tournament, has done that with a BD set of 4 million NP.

Where can I find my L54 rank?

L54 rankings are not official yet. Keep an eye, though, it may come someday.

Finally, the L54 is a good competitive league that offers you a chance to win against the greatest battlers of all time, simply because the battling pets will have lower stats, meaning that every one can get there, and because the BD equipment is not very expensive to have.

Neopets King Coltzan Society

$

0

Neopets King Coltzan Society is a group of people that is involved in the Higher League Battle. If one is apart of the King Coltzan Society, it does also mean that he has a higher league pet. Neopets King Coltzan Society defines a higher league pet as one who has 1000 Hit Points, 750 STR, and 750 DEF. Since STR at 750 points will inflict the most possible damage, and DEF at 750 points will defend the most possible icons, players can also choose to have more points for these two factors, which will not change the battle system.

http://images.neopets.com/games/new_tradingcards/lg_coltzan_2006.gif

Information

Note that the King Coltzan Society is not a guild in any form, or even a clan. 1 Player and 2 Player events take part few times during a year. At this time, 2 player events are the only “modes” that will be hosted, because the Battledome is currently in Beta and has some changes to do. Once that happens, though, 1-player tournaments will be hosted within the time. Many rules will have to followed by those who wish to participate in the KCS events, and these detailed rules will be described later below. If any of these rules is not respected, a player will not be able to participate in the KCS events, so make sure you read them carefully.

The important factor that King Coltzan Society brings is that this association has brought a lot of help to make sure that veteran battlers are known, and that they will be visible to the future battledomers. If you’re looking to join the KCS, note that you will need some NP, since you will have to actually purchase a good BD set, that is powerful, and, at the same time, strategical. You will also have to use a trained pet with the stats described before, meaning 1000 HP/750 STR/750 DEF. Since the KCS pet stats requirements are high enough, it will be hard to join it and not many people will be able to. However, note that they are high so that battledomers can setup many strategies of theirs and make sure that the Battledome is ruled by the powerful, just like before.

You may be wondering if you should join the King Coltzan Society, or not. Of course, it is a reasonable question, but you will have to ask yourself whether the battling group is the good one for you. The King Coltzan Society is made certainly, mostly, for the people are looking for a strong battle, that can mix a combination of weapons to come with the best strategies that they’ve been thinking about, possibly for hours if not days. This association will also help you to increase your talent, so that you can even face the most powerful battledomers, and chose to fear or to be feared.

If you think that you qualify for the KCS, simply join. If you change your mind later, you will always have the opportunity to retract. It is up to you to decide whether you want to give it a try or not, but you should note that the KCS is absolutely not for beginners. You will need some experience there, or you will get crushed.

Rules

The rules below are directly attached to the King Coltzan Society, and you will have to follow them if you’re looking to be apart of it. It is not hard though, just read this one time or two, and you will get familiar with them.

Rule #1: You will have to be Kind and Courteous. The reason behind that is because, when we think about it, the Battledome brings up the competitive side of the players who are willing to battle, and if players started to be disrespectful, then the fun will be gone. Make sure that you are always Kind and Courteous, and it is not too much asked.

Rule #2: You will have to be Honest. You will not be able to borrow pets from your friends or from other people, because they will not be your own efforts. You will have to train a pet by yourself to be proud in participating in the King Coltzan Society, and you will also not be able to borrow weapons from your friends. For the weapons, though, it is harder to spot those who will borrow weapons, and this is why you are asked to be honest. You will have to win by your own efforts, and by the NP you’ve had a hard time getting, not by the work of someone else.

Rule #3: You will have to follow the event rules, which means that a list of guidelines will be given when the King Coltzan Society is about to start, and you will have to respect them to assure a smooth functionality of the battles.

Rule #4: You will not be able to use certain weapons. Basically, all weapons are allowed, but not those that are described below. The reason behind this is that some were judged unfair, which can be because of their capacity to multi-heal and to take a great advantage in battles, or because no weapons were released to counter x weapon, which can be unfair. Would you like having to battle against someone with a knife, while your enemy has a Carabine X51? Surely not. Below is the list of the weapons that you will not be able to use during the KCS battling events.

  • Items that will alter your opponent are not permitted. That means all the noxious weapons that can give your opponent’s pet a disease, the Eraser of the Dark Faerie which can delete the petpet of your opponent, etc.
  • Wand of the Dark Faerie, and Illusen’s Staff are only allowed until they will start healing you. You will not be able to use the multi-healing ability that they will provide. When your HP is low enough to earn healing, you will not be able to use these during a battle, because it is unfair for your opponent. If you have to multi-heal by a mistake, then the battle will have to be re-made.
  • You are only limited to have one freezer during a battle. You will not be allowed to use multiple freezers.
  • You will only be able to use one of these particular items during a battle, not both: Thyoras Tear and Thick Smoke Bomb. These weapons will be able to do exactly the same thing. The Thyoras Tear can defend you against all icons, at 100%, during one turn and will disappear from your set until the end of the battle. However, since its price is in the millions of NP range, the Thick Smoke Bomb was added later to give a chance to the low-on-NP players for them to use, but it will disappear forever after the use and players will have to purchase multiple of them if they wish to use them.

Rule #5: You will be able to use all of the Faerie Abilities that you wish to use, but some of them are banned: Lens Flare, Throw Pillows, Tempest, Warlocks Rage and Rejuvenate. Also note that Level 500 abilities are also banned from the King Coltzan Society events.

Rule #6: Make sure that there is not ties to be made, and that if a battle results in a tie, the battle will have to be re-matched so that a victorious can be determined.

Freezers

On the new Battledome, that is currently in Beta, freezers do not work very well, but note that King Coltzan Society allows you to use a freezer in a battle if, and only if both players agree to the use of them. If both players have agreed to the use of freezers, they will be able to use them during battles. However, you will have to keep in mind that if a player has been frozen, his opponent will not be able to use weapons or abilities for that round. If one of the two players has not agreed to the use of freezers, then the other player will not be able to use them, which also means the restriction of the Sword of Lameness.

Freezers have known few changes since the Battledome has changed, and it is necessary to point them out for you to understand. In the old Battledome, players were able to freeze their opponent, and that opponent would not be able to use a weapon of their for the next round. For the new Battledome, whenever a player uses a freezing item, you will have to make the first move during the next round so that you can actually freeze your opponent. For example, Bob decides to use his freezer in round 1. Bob has to pick on of his weapons or abilities, then proceed to click the FIGHT button before his opponent. If that has been a success, then the opponent of Bob will be frozen during that specific round. If his opponent has had an opportunity to click the FIGHT button before Bob, then the freeze will not take place and it will be a failure from Bob’s part. Currently, you will not be able to use your freezer for another attempt if you fail at the first time. Whether you succeed or fail at freezing your opponent during a specific round, the freezer will vanish from your set until the end of the battle.

Scores and Points

The King Coltzan Society have decided of the repartitions of the points, so that the fighters can earn them based on their competence. The Base Ten has been decided by the King Coltzan Society, so that all fighters will get a change to battle against people outside of their current bracket, thus leading to a fairer game.

For bracket 7, the player must defeat bracket number 3. The winner will get a total of 6 points.

For bracket 6, the player must defeat bracket number 4. The winner will get a total of 8 points.

For bracket 5, the player must defeat bracket number 5. The winner will get a total of 10 points.

For bracket 4, the player must defeat bracket 6. The winner will get a total of 12 points.

For bracket 3, the player must defeat bracket 7. The winner will get a total of 14 points.

The battler that will be designed as the winner for x battle will get a total of 10 points. There is also a minimum number of points that is awarded, which is about if, for example, bracket #3 defeats bracket #7, then bracket #3 will get 3 points per battle, but bracket #7 will not be eligible for these points. That was concluded to be necessary to help balance the points between brackets.

Finally, if you are looking to join the King Coltzan Society, simply mail the leader and don’t forget to include the name of your pet, your pets KCS bracket and your guild. Keep in mind that your pet will also need 1000 HP or more, 750 STR and 750 DEF.

Neopets L97

Neopets League 97 is an event that is creator by Neopets battledomers where it will only allow a specific build for players, so that they can start battles against various opponents, while they can be fair in terms of stats. Neopets League 97 does also allow longer battles, which was an idea incorporated to suit some of the most sought after needs.

L97 Rules

There you will find a list that indicates what is allowed, and what isn’t. If you are looking to participate in the L97, you will have to follow them, otherwise you will not be able. If you have any questions about these rules, or for any other question, you are free to neomain Penguinqwert.

Rule #1: If you are looking to participate in the L97, your pet must have 97 HP, 20 STR, and 35 DEF, nothing else. You will have to do every thing in your power to reach exactly 97 HP, so that you don’t get an advantage over your opponent. Make sure that for the last remaining point, to not train at the Mystery Island Training School, simply because sometimes you will earn a bonus points, which gives your pet a +1, and can possibly get you over 97 HP. There is actually almost no way to lose HP, so make sure you don’t go over the limit. If you are looking to participate, your pet will also need a minimum of 80 HP, otherwise you will be disqualified from the battle. Put some effort on your pet before you enter the 97 League. However, there is an exception for pets with 98 HP will be accepted, considering their STR and DEF matches the requirements. If your pet has 98 HP, the 98th HP is considered as 0, so that if you fall at 1 HP, then you’re automatically considered the loser of the battle. If your pet has more than 98 HP, you will be not able to participate in the L97, unless you train up another pet.

Rule #2: You will not be allowed to use weapons that do more than 12.0 icons in offense, or in attack (ex: Super Attack Pea does more than 13 icons and therefore, it is not allowed).

Rule #3: You are not allowed to have a Dual Duty weapon that does more than 15.0 icons. You will also not be able to have 100% block Dual Duties.

Rule #4: The Dark Faerie Collar is not allowed during the L97 league because it does more than 15.0 (because of the reflection it provides).

Rule #5: Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield is not allowed because it was considered to be overpowered.

Rule #6: Stealing weapons, and freezer weapons are not allowed if, both of the players have agreed to the use of them. If one of the two players agrees, and the other doesn’t, then neither will be able to use a freezer, stealing weapon. However, if both of the players agree to the use of these weapons, then they are free to.

Rule #7: Weapons that can heal multiple times in a battle are not allowed, just like the Wand of the Dark Faerie, and the Illusen’s Staff as two examples. There are more multi-healers out there, though.

Rule #8: The Rainbow Scorchstone and the Glittery Scorchstone are not allowed during the L97 league.

Rule #9: You will not be able to use Thyoras Tear and Downsize in a battle. In other words, you are not allowed to equip both of these to your pet. Only one of them is allowed.

Rule #10: Faerie abilities of level 50 and more are not allowed.

Rule #11: Single Use items are not allowed. However, you are free to use fragile items if they don’t break one of the rules described before.

Rule #12: A participant will not be able to harm his opponent by using poison if they are not going to provide a cure for them. If one does poison his opponent during a L97 battle, then he must provide the cure at his own fees.

Rule #13: All players will not be allowed to use boons that are obtainable from the Battleground Oblisk War, which will give a slight advantage to the player who has them. Avoid at any cost.

Rule #14: You are only allowed to use the weapon that are yours. You will not be able to borrow weapons from other users, even if they are not participating in the L97 events. You will have to purchase weapons by your own efforts. However, you will be able to borrow L97 pets if you wish.

Rule #15: You will have to respect Neopets Terms and Conditions, so that you do not scam or cheat in the attention to win the battle.

Rule #16: If battlers enter in a dispute, then they must refer to the staff of the iDB tournament.

Rule #17: If you break any of the rule described before will lead you to a “forfeiture from a battle or set”, being disqualified or banned from the future L97 events that will take place.

Rule #18: Even though there are ability glitches, they can still be played simply because it is part of the life.
